Powder left in charge master

I write the powder type on a index card and rubber band it to the tube. I also never have more than one type of powder on the bench at one time and leave the jug on the bench as a reminder. I have been using chargemasters for many years and have noted a slight darkening of the tubes but don't know if it is powder or something else.

BTW, I also take a used dryer sheet and use it to rub the inside of the tube. Keeps powder from sticking to it from static. Do that with my dillon tubes as well which seem to have much more of a static cling issue.

does leaving powder in the charge master discolor the clear reservoir
Some guy I know who was creating a powder labeling product for those who leave hoppers loaded told me that only the pistol powders discolor the reservoir. My 550b definitely has a lot of discoloration. It's about 30 years old though.

It will discolor if left a long time. I tore up my knee and was a knee surgery and a back surgery, and 2 years till I got to figuring out I left powder in my Dillon and it was not see through any more.

I go so far as to use a Brady labeler and label the cap w/contents. Masking tap & a sharpie will work too.
Same here. Each bottle pd powder I have gets two masking tape labels. One to keep on the bottle. One to put temporarily on the hopper when the powder is in it. When I dump the powder, I move the labe back to the bottle

Wise man, very true words.

We have tensile testers at work and there is a power conditioner feeding them. All it takes is some noise to make electronics go haywire.
Hmmm? someone once told me that if it had a block on the line it was converting to DC which would not require the line to be cleaned up ?

I've never had an issue with power conditioning, or lack thereof.

I've been eyeballing a Furman Power conditioner for both my guitar amps and scales, but it's a good chunk of change for an issue I'm really not suffering through.

I normally remove all the powder out of my hopper after every loading session. Well I loaded one night and was planning on loading more of the exact same thing the following day. Well life got in the way and after about a week I got by to reloading. My question is that powder ok that I left in the charge master. Would there be too much humidity absorbed by it??? Will it be ok but not as consistent?
If I know how many loads, I will be doing I weigh out the powder +10% and put it in my powder charger. Then there is typically a couple of dumps left and easy to clean.

I don't know about that one. It is customary to have a mains filter or line reactor going into VFDs, even the drives going to DC motors, have several at work this way. Also have several w/dedicated isolation xfmers.

We put in new tensile testers two years ago. Noise on the AC line was causing problems with the 24 VDC controls. A power conditioner solved the problem.

Last line:
Do not store powder in unit…….”

I generally think the manufacturer has the correct idea, and not just excess ink.
