The Cabelas near me usually has nothing and when they do, they have nothing useful. About the only thing the outfitter can outfit these days is a fashion show. I just placed an order from cabela’s website, for 1lb of H4350. The webpage confirming my order showed a different description “CFE pistol”. I called them. They confirmed there’s an error in their system. What I would have received is indeed CFE pistol, so the order was canceled. So close…….

Ever since vista/bass bought them out it has gone down hill. I used to like going there cause the wife could find some good deals in their bargain cave. Now everything I mean everything is msrp.
I asked an employee about price matching something and he kept giving me excuse after excuse as to why they couldn’t.
I took it to the register and showed them that midway had it for $130 cheaper. First she said they don’t price midway and I told her to check her list as I know they do.
After a bit they finally agreed but I go there maybe twice a year at most now.
And I personally don’t like posting xx store has primers powder etc. seen someone come on with friends and pretty much clear out of hat they had cause they saw it online.
Outside he was trying to sell what he just bought to some desperate guy over what he just paid

Heck, I was at our local Cabela's the other day with the intent of purchasing a Beretta A 400 20 gauge shotgun. I stood at the counter to be waited on. There were 3 employees on the other side about 10' from me. No other customers, one of them glanced in my direction and then continued talking with the other guys. I walked out and went to a different store about 30 miles away. There I was waited on right away and they sold me a $1700 shotgun! Sorry Cabela's!

Too bad they were raided and sold to Bass Pro Shop...just not the same robust selection of shooting related items.

Bad thing is that they were once a really good company to deal with, then they got bought out by Bass Pro and they went the direction of big business that tries to dictate terms. Buyers that aren't in touch and think they can bully their suppliers. Some won't deal with them.

I believe vista outdoors is the parent company that owned bass and now cabelas.
They tried to buy sportsman warehouse but luckily it did not go through. I can find better service at sportsman then cabelas. They are almost exact distance from me and rather go to sportsman

Ironic that they used to be a mail order only business (except the Sidney store) and switched to big overhead big box stores at exactly the wrong moment in time
