Bruno's Powder In Stock at noon 6/10

I completely understand what you're sayin Pat . A few months ago , I ordered a carbide expander from a very reputable tool company , widely known on this site . The price was quoted to me , on a phone order , and I would not be charged till it was shipped . When it got shipped , I was Billed almost double the stated price , and after calling to find out , WTF ? The supplier told me that "His" contractor had raised his prices on him , and he had no option , unless I wanted to cancel the order . I wanted the expander , so I bit the bullet , HARD sometimes stuff just happens beyond our control . Not making excuses for anyone . Shit happens .
I agree completely. If a person is willing to pay a premium for a product or service that is their prerogative.

It has always amazed me that those who have never run a small business , have no idea about purchase costs for inventory for that small business , as compared to purchase costs for a larger outlet like PV or Natchez . They can order ; and receive pallets of powder , at a lower purchase price , from suppliers , than say , a Bruno's . Because they are buying in volume , and are automatically placed higher on the pecking order by that supplier . And the supplier still maintains their "MARGIN OF PROFIT". Though Bruno's is a "Known" supplier in our sport , their facility could probably fit inside the lunch-room of Natchez or PV . So having the ability to order and store large amounts of "YOUR" favorite item , so "YOU" get the best price is not always conducive . It doesn't necessarily mean their gouging . Just trying to maintain "THEIR" margin of PROFIT" , so they can stay in business . Natchez and PV get powder by the trailer load . Bruno's get theirs by a pallet or two at a time . Go figure ... And Bruno's does sell more than just powder & primers . Lots more . Bottom line is : You don't like their prices ? Don't buy from them . But a night-class on Business Economics wouldn't hurt , either .

DISCLAIMER : I am not associated with Bruno's , other than as a customer . I do not work for Lester , or have any connection to his business .
our local gun shops are not as large as Brunos and they have not gouged near as much. i just bought 4ea 8lb jugs of varget for 279.99 per jug. that is considering he has added his shipping and hazmat cost in the pricing. he is not a large volume supplier as the town is around 25K . i don't want to hear about how some of these vendors are not raising their pricing, they are only maintaining their profit margins???? most all the shops in our area have indicated there has been very little pricing increase from the distributors 10-15% seems to be the norm for most on powders. bullets have gone up 25-30%. so the pricing listed in some of these post are in fact taking advantage of the situation. not to mention Brunos shut down their site to only walk in trade!!!! well i for one hope the walk in trade can sustain his business model and profit margin cause I am DONE with Bruno's and all the others who gouged during this crisis. funny how their pricing comes back in line somewhat when there is a rather constant supply???? hmmm???

Wow . Didn't have your favorite primer at the price you wanted to pay ? Okay . Let's go burn down the building . SHEEESH ! Must be at least 150 Competitive shooters in your town of 25,000 . Ben Avery ; One of the largest ranges on the planet is in Phoenix for a reason . The massively large shooting population can support it , year round . And that same shooting population is always in "purchase" competition for available re-loading supplies . What you may call "GOUGING" in your little "BURG" , is called competitive pricing here . It goes back to capitalism , supply & demand , and market value . If the only supplier in your area were charging that rate , and it was the ONLY powder available , you'd either pay it , or sit home . If 2,000 shooters were poundin on your door five days a week , all wanting to know when YOU were going to get some Varget for pre-Pandemic price , you might decide the pre-Pandemic price was a little low too . I have a can of Dupont 4831 that came to me in a box of yard sale stuff , and the price-tag was still intact . Shelf price was $17.49 , and the "Sale" price was $11.99 . I think that powder is just a little higher than that today . From any supplier . So they're ALL gougin us poor , broke shooters , cause they don't sell us the stuff we want , at the price we want to pay . I checked ! NO freakin body is forcing you to buy it from anyone . So how bout we all stop with the whinin , bitchin , and snivelin about the issue . It serves no purpose . PERIOD !

So would you like to explain to me how I am whinin , bitchin , or snivelin about this ? Other than to state the very obvious "other" side . Problem with what I said ? Or you think defending American business practices , and Capitalism is a bad thing ?

Bruno's is top notch. Always have been. They don't have a large shop, yet they work hard to get what competition shooters need.

Wonder what $17.49 would be in today's dollars?
Found an "inflation calculator"....if the powder above was purchased in 1990 for 17.49 it would cost about $35 in today's dollars.

I like Bruno’s. It’s nice to go into a store and see lots of reloading tools and components I just don’t see anywhere else but maybe the internet that offers the inventory they do where I can go in browse and touch. I was in there the other day and was checking out the Wilson die kits with the full length bushing sizers, nice dies. I get tired of going into local gun shops and not seeing much at all for inventory, basic reloading tools, most of them don’t carry any of the good stuff. I usually pick up some cleaning supplies, bulk brushes etc. when I’m in Bruno’s, mist the other shops around don’t carry any of that.

Granted they can be higher on some items. I don’t pay the really high prices, I do buy what I think to be priced competitively. Ultimately I’m glad they are there, there’s been more than once I was able to buy there when I couldn’t find it anywhere else.

To each their own though. If they rub you wrong theres lots of other options. I hope they stick around though, not every brick and mortar shop will survive this craziness. I wish they all would, more shops gives us more options and shops that truly specialize in reloading are far and few.

it would be nice if they do, but if they continue to charge 50 - 100 % more than what other stores are charging for their product and double what other stores are charging for shipping and hazmat service I don't see how they can. Back in April I bought 8 pounds of ACC 2520 from Powder Valley, price including tax, shipping and hazmat was 219 , 8 pounds of TAC from Midsouth was a bit higher at 234 shipped. Bot prices were higher than what I would have payed 2 years ago. But the prices were not double which is what Brunos is charging.

The local gun shop offered me BR 4 primers at $6.99 a hundred the other day. I told them I will wait until the price comes down and I will be back. They have always been good to us. It's just business. And I will go back. ;}

if the guy across the street offered to sell them to you for $3.50 where would you buy ?

This has nothing to do with hard feelings or if I would buy from them again. ;}
that's up to you. I normally try and reward merchants that treat me right with giving them my future business. Those that don't may still get my business but only if I cannot get the same item elsewhere. That is just my way of doing things
