Powder for 6ARC

Had no problems resizing the Grendel. Would have to look back in the notes for times used. Have many cases to anneal and clean .

Have new Starline ARC Brass loaded for a range trip first of May. Leverevolution, CCI 400s, 110 A tips., approximately. 080 / .085 off lands, single round feeding.

Will be interesting to see how they work compared to Hornady. I am in no way interested in resizing or forming brass.

I shot factory 108 ELDs in a match a few weeks ago and they did well but were slow at about 2710fps.

This purchase is just to explore what will work best and then I'll buy bulk.
I already have 8lb'ers of A2460, Benchmark and TAC that I have been using in my 223 loads. While the Benchmark and 2460 provide good loads they just are not as good as I am looking for.
 
Only reason I did the resizing was the lack of availability.
You are the first I have found using the heavier bullets, What changed the 108 velocity ? All the variables the same.?

What is maximum yardage you shoot in a match. I don’t shoot competition, only for fun.

Have you tried the old stand by H335?

I get that and why I have a bunch of the Hornady on hand.

The 108 were the factory loaded ammo. I didn't load them.

We shoot out to 1000-1200 yards depending on the match. It makes it no problem. I have shot them at my home range to 1000.
 
Reading all this I'm getting impatient. Powder is not expected until Monday afternoon.

Also one of the guys I shoot with has a open box of 105gr Scenar's he is not going to use and offered then to me for 1/2 price. So I can see I will be busy soon.

The last factory loads I shot were the 103s, they were about 2700 fps. I can tell that the factory brass is definitely softer than the Starline
 

6MM GRINCH Defeats entire Field of 6PPCs

The Grinch took the 2 Gun this weekend at St Louis Missouri. Greg King piloted his 6MM Grinch for the win! Conditions were fairly light on Saturday but were a bit rougher at 200 on Sunday! It's way too early to trumpet the demise of the 6PPC, however it looks like the Grinch can hold its own...

6 Grinch Brass Forming ?

The 6 Grinch is looking very interesting. I am not that knowledgeable on the forming of Custom Brass. My Guess would be have a Barrel chambered for the 6 Grinch, get some Laupa 6.5 Grindel brass, reduce the neck size to 6mm and them load some up and shoot it in the new barrel to fireform it...

Anyone still shooting the 6mm Grinch? Do they have enough ass to use a 8 twist with 105 class match bullets to score shoot out to 400-500 yds and be competitive , or are they best suited for a 10 or 12 twist and 80's?

Curious question, does the 6 arc share a 223 bolt face diameter ?
 
Powder arrived today, 2lbs LVR, 1lb Varget. 1 box Berger 95gr..

Just finished sizing up 50pcs Hornady brass and after a short break will be at it sizing it.

Have load data from Hornady, Hodgdon and Berger for the 105gr bullet which I will load first. Thinking with the LVR.
