Possibly The Most Beautiful Stock Ever!

The most beautiful stock ever??
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What some like, others don't.
I've seen a few women that I thought were beautiful but I know somewhere out there, someone hates their guts.;)

You'd have to actually hold it to see how amazing it is.
I can honestly say that pictures do none of these stocks justice.
Drool bib and white gloves required!!20210409_131636.jpg20210408_190143.jpgFlawless!!

I was told by an old timer, yes older than me' that the curly Maple you see on Barts stock is from years of compression and moisture in these heavy old trees. I have seen huge old Maples but they just didn't have the moisture and shear weight to cause the horizontal.
Birdseye Maple is another beautiful piece when finished.

The pictures of the stock do not do it justice. It truly is a work of art, from the wood layout to the paint/dye work that @Bc'z layed on it.

I’m glad I had the pleasure of seeing it in person and that I got the opportunity to work on it.

It’s done and headed back home to Kentucky in the morning to @BartsBullets

Everyone say a little prayer that the UPS men and women get it home safely

Can’t wait for that baby to get home! Looking forward to getting it tuned up for the 600 yard Nationals.

Big Thanks to Zack Donovant at Old Dominion Rifles for the great Gunsmithing!

Another big thanks to Bc’z Brett Childress for the insanely awesome paint job!

Jason Peterson drove up from California yesterday to drop off his Wheeler low boy for a lil candy treatment and hang out for a bit.
I took the time to show him the difference from 1st cut finish to fine tuning the finish with 2&3000 grit paper and setting the shine explaining that all the dyes, priming and blocking were just prep work for 4-5 hours of sanding and polishing.
Jason went from that looks great to WOW I see the difference!!

Old Dominion Custom Rifles and @BartsBullets and this special project came up in conversation a couple times, so when i had a notification of this older thread this morning I felt I should bring it back up.

This is the rifle Bart used to set his 600yd world record, and is also seen in the Jason Bourne video.
