Polygonal barrel - Your experience

Hi guys,
I'd like to know your opinion about this type of rifling in a 6.5x47.
Hope you have different opinions and that is the name of the game. Want to read all of 'em.

Every one of Gary Schneiders 5P barrels, that I have put on for customers, have shot and maintained their accuracy very well.

I concur with Eddie. I've used 15-20 of them personally and they have all shot quite well.

Not a rifle but my Glock in .357Sig is scary accurate.

that rifling type is a choice and works, history shows it does,

HOWEVER, don't think you will see it on many BR or lr 1000 yd match rifles. cant compete

I've always had good luck with it. I don't know why we don't see more barrels made with polygonal rifling. It must be easier to make the standard type. One of the best shooting rifles I ever had was a polygonal rifled 308. It reminds me of a sporter barreled 223 stainless bolt gun...they always sell, but they are hard to find...you'd think if it was that much in demand they would make more...

I have a LW in 30-284, It's in a hunting rig and I'd put it up against other name brand makers barrel.. I have Hart ,Krieger, Broughton, Shilen.

I use BHW P3 barrels on my builds these days just due to the fact they are very accurate tubes. All mine print sub moas w/my hand loads. They are not expensive competition barrels, but for targets/varmints, hunting they are tough to beat I build for accurate varmint/hunting rigs vs someone who wants their hunting rig to shoot into the same hole to 800 yards.
