POI shifts when switchbarreling...

So I spun the 6.5 creedmoor off to test my new barrel vice and rear entry action wrench and was successful, so switchbarreling is in the cards for me soon and I spun the barrel back on.

Went to the range and noticed a 0.2 mil low / 0.2mil right shift. To be fair, I removed the scope so I cannot attribute the shift to the barrel removal/installation process...but I did shoot a sub 1/4" group @ 100 yards :) I re-zero'd and went to the 200 yard range and proceeded to shoot 1/2" or better groups. Stoked! I didn't mess anything up and didn't break anything. LOL

Does anyone experience POI shifts when switchbarreling?

6.5x47 Lapua Stolle Grizzly II doesn't change POI if I set the same barrel tension. I also swap to a 30BR Barrel which does has a different POI but switch back and I'm back on target at 200 yards.

Steel does compress if you go overboard with tension in my view.

It was the scope removal. I change tubes about as often as anyone on the planet during regular 600 / 1000 yard IBS matches...once during the 6 min sighter period of a 1K match.

I do not use a tourque wrench, and my predidted POI is spot on time and time again. If you removed the scope, that is your problem.

Now, most of my tubes don't all shoot the same POI, but the same tube will ALWAYS be spot on....every time!!

Thanks everyone.

I'll run a test and see if I get POI shifts for my particular gun. Like I said, on a good note, I shot a sub 1/4" 3-shot group...just of my POA.

If you don't mind my asking what action our you using?

Do you guys use anti-seize on the threads and on the surface where the action face meets up with the barrel or just the threads?
