POI shift when reinstalling rifle barrel?

I'm curious what kind of POI shift I can expect if I'm removing and reinstalling a barrel from a custom (BAT) action? I'm kicking around the idea of having 2 barrels for shooting prairie dogs. I'm wondering how far of a shift I can expect when I take a barrel off and then put it back on.

Thanks,
Mark

3 MOA to the right and two MOA down is what I've encounter when I change barrels. I used the same reamer on both barrels but two different gunsmiths.

There is nobody here that can give you a correct answer to your question, you
would have to test your particular rifle.

I have tested my AIAX, after removing and reinstalling the barrel hand tight it will be
around 1 moa off for the first shot and the second shot will be within .4 moa or less.

That's the exact kind of answer I was looking for, especially the hand- tight part! I know that every rifle will be different, but I'm hoping to hear what others have experienced with their rifles. I'm guessing that not a lot of people remove their barrels often enough to know the answer to this question, but if there was a place where those people congregated on-line, this was most likely going to be it. The plan that I'm considering is basically running the barrels hand tight, and then swapping out to a "cool" barrel every 15 to 20 rounds. We shoot on a reservation where we have to walk in and we normally walk about 1/2 mile from the vehicle before we get into the dogs. Not having to carry a 2nd rifle, or a lot of tools for swapping barrels would be a plus. I'm fine with dialing in a known initial offset and then making another small adjustment after the first 3 or 4 shots.

Now I just need to start saving money to buy an action...

My Bat Nuevo action that I shoot 6 dasher and .284 win with, are both under .5 MOA adjustment in elevation and windage. The 6 dasher is higher by 3/8 MOA (3 clicks) at 100 yards and that is partially due to the fact that the muzzle velocity of the dasher is over 200fps faster. The dasher is also 1/4 MOA (2 clicks) right of the .284 win, which could potentially be partially explained by the faster right hand twist rate. Point being, at 100 yards, when shot in the wind tunnel, the POI is so close, and so repeatable, that I no longer even reset the March scope “zero” locks for elevation or windage. I have a note on the scope what the zero settings are for the dasher, and the .284 win is set to zero/zero.

That would be sweet. Are you also going hand tight, or are you torqueing to 50-60 ft lb?

If I go this route, they will likely both be 22 cal. Probably a 22-250AI or 22XC, and a 22 Creed. I'm thinking about having bath of them cut identically to reduce the number of dies, and eliminate the concern of inadvertently mixing brass, or accidentally fire forming 22xc brass into 22 creed which would cause problems the next time tried to run it through a sizing die. For some reason my brain Doesn't like the idea of having 2 "identical" chambers, but it seems like it would be less hassle than having 2 chambers that are only similar.
