POI change shooting from field positions

I read where a guy made some white reference marks on the inside of his scope to help keep the same anchor and said it improved his groups when changing positions

The reason why the POI change when the hold or rest type is altered is the fact that the bullet is still in the barrel in the beginning stages of recoil. So it stands to reason if the exact same gun handling techniques are not practiced from shot to shot the bullet will exit the muzzle at different angles.
