PMC BRASS

Iam using PMC for reloads 3x fired getting 3/4" @ 100yds, verses Lapua 9/16" with same power charge and bullet weight.
Annealed some cases to try but never had chance to try if equal to Lapua.

Pmc brass is fine if you measure the necks for inconsistency and do all the usual prep steps. It is a bit thicker than federal etc ,so reduce charges and watch for pressure signs. On some you have to cut the primer crimp out and that is no big deal.

I personaly dont use pmc..recently i pickd up about 100 pecies at the range from off the ground. After knocking primers out i noticed that about 1out of 4 had flash holes that were way off center. May have been ok but persoanly i tossed out the whole batch

I happen to like the PMC stuff , I've found it to be very consistent case to case as far as weight and case capacity , however it does tend to weigh more and thus has less capacity than say Win or Rem and loads must be adjusted accordingly . Most all my shooting is done in single shot rifles and once shot its a simple neck size from them on .

I have used PMC brass for reloads and have 4 cycles without annealing or full-length resizing. Case length trimming, primer pocket depth counterboring and flash hole chamfering were very necessary. still getting 1/2 MOA @ 100 yards.

PMC is good stuff. If you've got it, use it. The only .223 I've tried was some factory prototype loads that shot 1/2-5/8", and the empty cases looked fine afterward. With 22-250AI I've used PMC brass since about '90 and it would be my first choice......even using factory ammo in the AI chamber, it shot surprisingly well. In .257Wby there's nothing better, it's harder and the necks are very uniform, enough to run .002" neck clearance without turning and wlthout worry. I'd be using PMC in the .243AI but my reamer is a few '10ths too tight and it doesn't quite fit. A friend shot benchrest successfully for years with 6ppc made from PMC 7.62x39, large primer......he beat a lot of guys who were using brass with small primers and they didn't think it was possible. There's nothing wrong with PMC brass.

Loaded about 3k of PMC using fired 64 PMC ammo. Great brass. Now anneal it every time. Very slick.

I run TONS of it. It indeed does NOT have the most consistently placed flash holes, but it works good for bulk match .223.
