Plum stupid mistakes

Powdered up 100 cases, turned and bumped the tray into the press. Dumped 100 cases of powder back into the measure and started all over again.

Well, I'll add one from last night. Was prepping some new 22/250 brass, ran it thru a LEE collet die to straighten out the dings in the necks, then needed/wanted to trim/chamfer to finish them off. I had ordered the LEE handheld trimmer set up, got it all put together and started trimming with a 12v power drill. First couple of pieces didn't look right, so I was looking at everything. It's kinda hard to NOT use the LEE trimmers in the wrong way, but if you don't have the drill going in the CORRECT direction, well, it don't work all that well. Gave myself a nice "atta boy dumbazz", flipped the drill over and went to town.

I still like my Giruard trimmer better tho.

That reminds me of putting the boat in the water then remembering the drain plug, that gets inserted from outside.

did this once.... on purpose. was going to rinse the bilge a little (don't tell the sierra club!) iirc, boat got too heavy for the 4 cyl p/up so i ended up wading anyway. i say iirc 'cuz there MAYBE was some of the 'good stuff' involved. or maybe it got off the trailer and i had to reel 'er back in? sheesh. thankfully those daze are over!

PS. I've done the 'forgot to prime' thing a couple of times, grabbed the wrong bushing on occasion and a few other things that usually resulted in the destruction of a case. I have also discovered that one can seat a 6.5 mm bullet in a 6mm neck. It takes some effort, but it can be done . . .

A 6.5mm 123 gr. A-Max found its way into a box of 6mm 105 gr. A-Max. Should have stopped. Looked funny when I was done.

Not reloading, but how about being 3/4 mile into the woods on opening day, load your rifle, forget that it is "controlled feed" and add that last cartridge ahead of the bolt rather than from the magazine. Guarantee it can only be cleared with a cleaning rod, which is of course that 3/4 mile back at camp.

Small brass rod that will fit in the bore. Drop from the top, repeat as neccasary. Saved my trip at least once.

But there was no rod there! Trust me, I never hunted with that rifle again without a three piece rod stored in my day pack! Learned that lesson well.

A few of my blunders...

1) placing the powder pan on the chargemaster to allow it to dispense then removing the powder pan as it starts to throw powder as a have a brain fart. What I get is a bunch of powder kernels on the machine and all over the bench

2) leaving the powder funnel on a charged case b/c I forgot to move it to the next empty case. Results in a potential big mess with the double charge.

3) assuming that different lots of the same bullet will have the same dimensions from lot to lot then wondering why my CBTO and COAL dont match up to previous load data
