Please help me buy my first new barrel

I am looking to buy a new barrel for my Savage 12 F T/R rifle in .308.

I am shooting F-Open MidRange, LongRange, and PALMA matches. I plan on using 155gr SMK (2156) or 175gr SMK.

My first suggestion was a medium PALMA contour with PALMA 95 chamber.

What twist and brand should I be looking for?

Thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

mcgowenoutlet.com has prefit barrels in stock with ss savage nuts in stock available. Order 30" finish length in 12 twist to 175smk. if 185 berger hybrid you need 11 twist.

I agree with you Jon , I would stick with Krieger, Hart or Brux.

i have been wanting to try a brux, but if you have to have a prefit id go with a cut rock barrel.

I would talk to Jim at Northland shooter supply (763) 682-4296 and look at the Criterion barrels pre-fits he carries for the Savage. There have been some very good F class shooters who are doing well with the Criterion pre-fit barrels.
