Plan to travel there soon. Any good tips would be helpful! Places to see, good real estate agents, restaurants?

Thanks!
Josh

What lifestyle ya looking for? What kinda property ya want? Wyoming is not really known for our restaurant selection. Bring your rifle, if I’m available we can go shoot

Pinedale is very nice but cliquey. People are friendly enough to get by. I used to live about 25 miles from there. Fishing is GREAT in the area. Several lakes. My favorite was Soda Lake. Trolling countdown Rapala's and catching Brown's that looked like footballs!! Ahhhh the days. Real estate is pricey. Don't know if they have a hospital yet. Used to be just a clinic. An explosion of natural gas finds in the area has really enriched the county coffers. Not much in the "fancy" restaurant area. If you live in Pinedale, you will be driving to Jackson or Rock Springs for better shopping and places to eat.

In Lander, eat at the Gannet grill. In Pinedale, if you can, spent the night at Lakeside Lodge. I used spent a lot time there hunting and fishing in the winds.

Gannet Grill does have good food, but be prepared for a long line ordering food. Dang tourists anyway!;)

The Oxbow Restaurant next door to the Pronghorn Inn has a great breakfast, good prices, too.

LVSA right up the road on Hiway 789. Private club but check sporting goods store in town for possible guest use. Heck, just 30 some bucks to join!

Above info for Lander.

Get reservations for a Hotel/Motel. Cody can be very crowded with lots of tour busses, even in September after the kids are back in school.

The Cody Night Rodeo is worth going to. Not sure when it closes for the season? Couple of cool guns shops if I recall correctly. Have a great time!

if you go to lander try to see sinks canyon its only a few mile out of town. also if you have time continue on up from sinks canyon on the loop road its 28 mile back to wyo 28 and 40 mile to lander. dave in wyo

People’s perspectives are interesting. If I had my choice of all the destinations in Wyoming, none of the ones in the post would make the list. At least to move to, nice to visit, but those towns are getting less and less Wyoming-ish. The billionaires are pushing out the millionaires from Jackson as they say. But to some people, it’d be a giant improvement. I for one don’t like dealing with all the things that I see on national news. And lander for example is very much full of things that ya never thought you’d see in Wyoming. Beautiful place, not my crowd sometimes.

See the Museum in Cody, take in the night rodeo. A few years ago we attended the chuckwagon next door and had a fun time.

Fish Yellowstone. Get a guide if you need to...we used the one in downtown Cody and he did a nice job for my son flyfishing for bows.

Pretty cool ministry in Powell that connects kids to church thru hunting, called Polestar.

Visit Buffalo. Really.

FYI the Cody rodeo is EVERY NIGHT!!! lol..
I would check out Buffalo and Sheridan.. I like Cody it really slows down in the fall.

Love everything about Wyoming! Cody is a great place. When I was a younger Lineman I was interested in a position for Big Horn Basin coop in the Big Horns. Wife held me back and I always wish I would have made the move.

Local flavor bars downtown Cody have the perfect burgers!

When you leave Lander go out through Riverton and follow the Wind river to Thermopolis where the Wind River changes to the Big Horn river at the wedding of the waters where Owl Creek dumps into the river.
Great fishing every where along the river, don't miss the Holliday Inn in Thermopolis, hot springs, great restaurant with tons of mounted trophy animals. Its a little off the tourist path but great country and just a few hours from Cody.
Oh and the best Dinosaur museum around.
Used to be a nice little rifle range just outside of town on the way to Cody.

Exactly

Check out the Oxidental Hotel and Saloon from the 1800’s in Buffalo. The Irma Hotel in Cody is also a stop. They run a little wild west show in the street each evening and a good breakfast buffet. The Irma was built by Buffalo Bill, and named after his daughter.
