I agree about the beauty of the Teton’s. It’s to bad the super tourist’s have made lodging and food cost 10 times more than what it was just 20 years ago.To the contrary of several here, I would definitely go to Jackson. Drive Lander on up through Dubois and down through the grand Tetons. Absolutely stunning as you come over the mountains and wind your way down to the valley with the Tetons out in front of you. They are the most beautiful mountains in the US. I was not impressed with Yellowstone and do not recommend it. Drive through Jackson, maybe grab a meal, and continue on to Pinedale.

I know my opinion is unpopular, but I've been all over Colorado and the wind river. There is nothing particularly exciting or extraordinary about Yellowstone: just A LOT of people.Disagree about Yellowstone. I've been there twice and will go again. Too much history/geology/wildlife/wilderness to miss.
