Pillar Bedding Time/Cost?

What would be your estimated time on pillar bedding a cnc ed wood stock?

Morning, Don. Depending on how complete the inletting is and the action, I usually have about 5 hrs in a pillar bedded bolt in.

That includes making pillars, action screws, all the prep work, the actual bedding, post bedding detailing and whatever else needs addressing....trigger room in the stock, mill trigger guard for trigger clearance (if needed), etc.

To do it right its not a quick job. Local Chevy dealer is 180 an hour. A good bedding job should run about a grand.
 
Should or does?

At your shop, I mean.
I don't do a lot of stock work as I stay busy with barrel and action work, and Im trying to keep lead times down. But if I had do a stand alone bedding job it would be. But I only do bedding when Im doing a full build. So its usually an inlet and bed. Im not talking about a skim bed on an inletted McMillan, ext.
