What would be your estimated time on pillar bedding a cnc ed wood stock?

Morning, Don. Depending on how complete the inletting is and the action, I usually have about 5 hrs in a pillar bedded bolt in.

That includes making pillars, action screws, all the prep work, the actual bedding, post bedding detailing and whatever else needs addressing....trigger room in the stock, mill trigger guard for trigger clearance (if needed), etc.

I bought a MDT chassis and put my 6.5x47L in it. Shot it yesterday and shooting 0.26 moa at 300 yards. No bedding, no pillars.

Lol call Ford and Dodge, see what they charge. Some dealerships are $200+/hour. His point is people will pay $180/hr for their brakes to be fixed, but when a gunsmith charges for his time people wince.

Man! I'm going to have to increase my prices a whole LOT! I only do the work for a few good friends or myself though.

If your putting out world class work you should, not all bedding jobs should be priced the same.

Excellent. I have a carcano that I want to use in short range bench rest. It has some issues but not sure if it is the bedding or the pitted bore. Send me your shipping address and we'll get this thing winning by at least next season.
