I friend of mine has Remington 7mmMag with 3 groove so I called the owner of Pac-Nor and he said he had a 300 Win Mag with 3 groove and really liked it and said it would work well in a 30-06. I will see tomorrow.Curious why a 3 groove barrel in a 30 cal?
Thanks,The view is Humphrys Peak about 12,500'. Highest point in ArizonaThat rifle is as good looking as the view! Very nice set up! Good luck!![]()
Tomorrow I will try 210 Sierra M.K. and Berger 210 Target. Then later load 195gr Sierra TMK, 208gr ELD, 208gr Hornady Match and ordered some Sierra 190gr MK for the Serengeti chamber and ordered some Berger 200gr 20x to try. I have some Hornady 195gr Match that fit the chamber of this new rifle to sight in with and some Hornady 155gr Palma to break in and sight in also. That will keep be occupied until the new Nosler RDF 210gr come out.Beautiful. Just as I imagined it!
What are you gonna load for it?
Have to agree with you there. Really like those Manners stocks. With a few exceptions, the only views we have in KY are cows and corn fields! That rifle is as good looking as the view! Very nice set up! Good luck!![]()

I don't think a 1in 10 would hurt, plus you could go big if you ever wanted. I'm sure the guys here know way more than I do about that. I never considered a 1 in 11 for a 30-06.10 twist? I was thinking I wanted an 11, not shooting anything over 180 here.
Do you think a 1n10 be better than a 1n11 for my needs.
Thanks, I always wanted a heavy 30-06 and could never find one so I went for it. Got to love any 30-06Wow!!
That sure puts my OM 70 Featherweight '06 in the plain category. Serial Number is 407,xxx. I bought it from the original owner about 40 years ago. It has lots of "character", I think that is what they call hunting dents and scratches these days. Still shoots the factory 180gr Silvertips a bit over an inch for five when I do my part.
That is ONE Fine rifle you have there. Everybody should own an '06 some day.
I don't know, I just heard about them and read up on them. They make sense in some ways, less bullet deformation, maybe better seal. Iv'e heard that they are easier to clean. I'm sure you could argue against them too. Have to wait and see. Besides. 3 is my lucky number! Good things come in 3's etc.Why not? 3,4,5,6...they all shoot accurately with quality barrel makers.
