Pics of recovered bullets

The more information you have about the shot (media, results, if any, range, load, bullet, MV, etc.) the more I want to see them.

Saturday afternoon December 3 rd outside of Menard Texas. Hand loaded .270 130 grn Accubond

This guy died of a broken heart. Found the round in the opposite shoulder.

180 speer grand slams recovered from elk and fired from a 30-06. many elk shot were pass throughs so there was no bullet to recover. i have not recovered one from deer or caribou- they were pass throughs.
closest shot was 30 yards and longest near 200 yards.

they average 168 gr and the lightest is 160 gr.

the bullet on the right was recovered from an elk that i shot with the grand slam beside it. there was a patch of hair knocked off of the off side and a bullet under the hide that i cut out. beside the bullet i cut out was another bullet.
it weighed 150 gr and was completely healed [obviously over a year old]

as a side note a friend tested the speers before a hunt in wet news paper and came to the conclusion that it was a poor bullet.

I only have one, a 300 Sierra from a 45-70 at roughly 75 yards, quartering away shot on a whitetail.

It was recovered from under the hide of it's far side "leg pit"?

I love controlled expansion bullets for hunting. A Pass through means they are sucking or blowing wounds. Big game with collapsed lungs don't run far. In most areas where I hunt it is important to have a quick blood trail to follow. I have seen many heart shot big game run 100 yards before expiring without dropping the first drop of blood. Yes, they are grave yard dead but often impossible to locate after the shot. My choice of hunting bullets for large game are Barnes Tripple shocks, Swift Shiroccos, Nosler Accubonds, and the other bonded core bullets. I also the Nosler and Swift, Partition type bullets are excellent.

Amen, look at the Barnes LRX's also.

My buddy shot a big whitetail buck this year that had 4 shotgun slugs from previous years still in it. All wounds completely healed. I don't have any pics....'spose I could get some.

5/31/13, Northern Cape, RSA .45 Savage muzzleloader, saboted.40 caliber 200 gr. Hornady SST, Oryx/Gemsbok distance 195 yds., quartering shot, 141.4 gr. after retrieval. Bullet stopped just inside the hide. You can see the bump. He ran about 50 yards before dropping dead.
