Picitinny front gas block

Anyone have an Picitinny gas block on their carbine AR that fits in front of the standard handguards? What brand is it?

I want to remove my front sight housing and use a flip up front sight. I have a 1-4 scope and the sight is a little distracting in the scope. Thanks for looking.

Yeah, they definitely make them because I have several. Cannot off the top of my head remember the brand, but Brownell's has them and they are not expensive. Unless you get the adjustable ones, but mine are fixed and they work fine. Just an FYI, I have used both the metal folding front sight {that looks just like the issue front sight {again, sorry, cant remember the brand but Brownell's has these too} and also the plastic MagPul one. If you have any kind of optic you will probably find that you wont hardly ever keep the folding front site on the gun.

Edit: actually the gas block, by and of itself has nothing to do with which hand guards you use. "Standard" M4 handguards mount to the round "carbine" plate that fits immediately behind the gas block. Honestly, if you don't need the picatinny rail and just want to get the front sight out of the way you can very simply cut it off and leave the rest of the factory/issue gas block in place. The riveted G.I. gas block seals as good or better than any other one that allen set screws on. I do it all the time and can post photos if you like.

Thanks, I have thought of cutting down the front housing but don't want to get caught with a failed scope. I've looked at flip up sights but have a front clamp on that a friend got in a trade I can use that's why I'm thinking Picitinny rail but I'm not married to the idea.
