>>>>>PIC.... Which 25/06 Bullet Best for DRT... DEER??<<<<<<

Which bullet will be BEST for DRT ..Dead Right There ... Kills on Whitetail deer in the 25/06 Caliber... from point blank out to 400 yds.... and maybe on hogs as well... from a 24 in barrel.

You don't have it. 115gr Berger VLD. Seriously though any of those bullets will work with that caliber at those ranges. The .25-06 kills very efficiently for its size.

Bullet makes little difference if you poke them in a bad place. I let MY rifle decide what it likes, then I pick what I deem the right one for the job.

Of the ones in the photos, the only one I will say you should not try on pigs/deer is the varmint.

The others will all do the trick when pointed at the right place.

The varmint jacket is thin enough to run the risk that it blows up at the initial contact and fails to penetrate.

25-06 is an excellent hunting caliber for pigs and deer, and can even deal with elk when the hunter is a marksman and the range is kept inside 400 yards.

I've shot the 165gr Ballistic Tip for years from my 06'. Never had to track.

But 25 caliber is a different beast.
Again the 115gr Berger VLD-H.
Daughter killed 6 pt last year with my 257 Roberts & the 115gr VLD-H.
"Dad, the body kinda puffed up, the legs went straight and it just fell over".

I used to use federal premium factory ammo that came with a 117 grain nosler bullet. Since learning to load I have used 3100 and 115 BTs to great effect.

My go to deer killer in the 25.06 is without a doubt the Speer 120gr Hot Cor. Of the ones you have pictured I'd go with the Speer 120gr Grand Slam or the Sierra 117gr. I've always shot the heavier bullets in my 25.05 for deer with excellent results. The lightest bullet I've ever shot in my 25.06 is the 110gr Accubond, it killed fine but was just a little hard for my liking. As mentioned, any bullet pictured will get the job done as long as you do your part but I definitely wouldn't use that varmint bullet on deer, chances are that's a lost wounded deer waiting to happen. Mike

I liked the caliber so well I upgraded to a .257 Wby. With 100 grain BT's its like shooting a lazer. I look for the white patch laying in the field after the shot. Never fails.

An 80 or 100 grain Barns TTSX in the boiler room at the distances you described and you and your quarry will both get a good night’s sleep.

Which bullet will be BEST for DRT
If you don't want them to take a step, it is a function of where you hit them, not what you hit them with. Start with a bullet that will penetrate and shoot them here. (I don't shoot them there because I butcher and eat the deer and antelope I shoot, and this creates too much damage I have to deal with, but that isn't what you asked).

my gun has 26in bbl and i have been shooting 25-06 for over 40 years. sierra at first but to much meat damage went to nosler bt had to be careful with shot placement tried nosler accrbond gun hated them and then i tried berger 115gr about 10 years ago! now that is the only bullet to down my bbl! very little meat loss and DIT (dead in tracks). I hunt 3 different states and have got my deer every year all DIT.

Looking for what my rifle liked. I tried all the old stand bys, with less than stellar results. AA3100 and a Hornady bullet gave what I was looking for, excellent accuracy good speed.
I have been told that AA3100 was the same as another powder. My chrono says different.

It's where you place the bullet any hunting bullet will drop them on the spot as jepp2 has pointed out I always preferred a little more forward just in case they would take a step.
