If you believe this will result in anything positive regarding the 2nd amendment by the actions of the current Dumbocratic administration, I'll sell you palm trees from my farm in Wisconsin. If this were a paper petition, a better use would be available at around 7 AM every morning. Just being a realist, not a pessimist. When the FBI can't convince the DOJ to pursue any charges against someone in our State Department, who was endangering the lives of Americans through careless use of a private email server, how on God's green earth do you perceive this petition will help our 2nd amendment rights? Your energies would be much better reserved and put into use helping to elect the Donald!

Your concern for how I use my energies is duly noted.

I feel that it's extremely self-serving to explain myself given the circumstances. But...

As I noted previously, I have contacted my representatives, who to nearly a person, knew nothing about this debacle at all. They all, to a person, thanked those of us who took the time and energy to wade through the telephone and e-mail mess to alert them.

However, besides running an extremely busy gunsmith business, I am working on my home state's elections for our State and Federal conservatives while trying to get rid of some of the dead wood currently holding office. I am also doing what I can for Mr. Trump although my position in the pecking order is not nearly high enough to make a significant difference.

When U.S. Marine Andrew Tahmooressi was arrested in Mexico for illegal gun possession a while back, there was a similar petition with the goal of getting the State Department/White House administration to act. I and many others signed it, and the number of signatures obtained grew rapidly to something well over the 100,000 or 150,000 supposedly required for "action". Obama did nothing. I applaud your concern, but you are fooling yourselves if think any petition to the current administration will accomplish anything, except, perhaps, that you're now all fully registered on the "list".

If you really believe that this one instance is all it takes to get any of us on a list, I suggest that you might be being fooled also.

I've been on several lists since I got into this business and really since I was a teen and started applying for hunting licenses. I can't begin to tell you how many sets of finger prints I've paid for and have on file with various agencies. Your participation in a shooting forum website is enough to get you on a list. A membership in the NRA or application for a FOID card will get you on another set of lists. So the reality is that we're already there and if one signature puts a little more pressure on the idiots in Washington then I'm on that list as well.

My point is that we need to keep up the pressure from all fronts, not just our representatives, some of whom are in cahoots with the Dems anyway. Hit them from all sides, continuously, not letting up until we stamp them out for good. Screw the lists.
