Maybe we should petition congress and send the petition straight to Trey Gowdy and see if he does anything.

You can fill that footlocker full of petitions, email and phone calls and send it to Congress, then at some point, receive an automated response. Right now, they are concerned about keeping their cushy jobs. If you want attention, you'll have to show-up in person.
That, and changing the mind of someone who campaigned on gun control is a non-starter.
