What drives yalls decisions on what brass to produce? I mean br shooters buy thousands of brass a year but yall chose a cartridge that disappeared in the 80’s except for a few silhouette guys here and there. Im just wondering im not criticizing you at all im just trying to learn. I mean i know guys (a bunch) that buy 220 russians by the case. By far the most brass lapua sells followed by the 6br. One weekend match will cost me 100 brass and i cant even shoot as much as i used to. Now we have a few new brass mfrs that dont even consider it and i know it costs quite a bit to tool up for each case and some of the cases yall and the others make will be fully stocked and the tooling gather dust after one maybe 2 runs. Like i said im not flaming yall just asking. I guess if you make it they will come.

I've been contemplating a 22 PPC for a while but don't care to fire form brass. If 6PPC brass were available from Petersen or another manufacturer that I could just neck down and go, I'd have a 22 PPC barrel on order. The 220 Russian / 6PPC brass market seems terribly under-serviced.

If you go 22ppc be sure to get one of the shortened versions. Never seen anybody satisfied with the full on ppc version

Like Dusty I would be interested in knowing what you take into consideration before adding a case to your production. I have spoken to Lapua a number of times over the years about adding a 6PPC to their line up noting to them, that most of the time they sell out a 220 run/lot quickly and it is in short supply every spring. To date they keep saying that a 6PPC would not be cost effective even thou we know the 220 is one of their top sellers. I often wondered out of all the 220 brass sold how much is actually shot in a 220 Russian chambered rifle.
On an unrelated thought...does anyone know how to find out what Lupua sales are for their various cases?
I have recently purchased some Peterson 7mmBR and 6BR to expand to 30BR, so I will keep you posted on my progress.
Stay safe!!!

wang,
Tim (Peterson brass) had mentioned making 30 br brass over in the reloading forum I will try and find thread and kick it back up top.Hope theres enough intrest generated to help them decide to make us some:D:D

Norma tried the 6ppc brass and that did not work out like one would have anticipated. The Norma shoulders were set back further and the pockets do not hold up as well as Lapua. The brass was consistent.

My thought is that if you make 6ppc, spec it to the Lapua fireformed brass, rather than something else. It would be nice if the primer pockets held up better than Lapua if that is possible.

Lapua will not make ppc brass due to liability knowing we’ll be rocking along at 80,000psi. Once you fireform that brass you changed their intended purpose

Tim, I've purchased your 6x47 and for a second time your 6br brass.
In a comparison with your 6br brass to Lapua, it's variance is half that of Lapua
in length, weight and neck thickness. Just my unscientific measuring.
In your 6x47, it's much easier to just load and shoot rather than necking down and turning 6.5
I've also found that your primer pockets are on par with Lapua. With many other companies
that seems to be a difficult thing to do in keeping them squared off.
Made in the USA a big bonus

I think with the popularity of the 6.5 PRC and the iffy Hornady brass, might be a good move also.
I think we gave him plenty of choices to make.
I know a guy close to Alpha brass and he says it takes a LOT of money to make a new die and run
a lot of pre production runs to get it right.
It doesn't happen overnight.

I can say cost is definitely a consideration in anything but not the only determining factor. In a perfect world we would certainly love to make every caliber that everyone could want , but I'm pretty sure everyone would agree thats just not realistic. We definitely appreciate all the feedback and we are paying close attention to everything everyone has requested.

So, when will you provide us information on what your next runs will be?
