Peterson Brass

My wishlist would be for Peterson to make 300WSM. I think there are more than enough folks using this cartridge, w/o the current availability of quality brass, to make it worth your time.:)
If you guys start making 300 WSM brass, I'll have to buy one of those heavy duty wheel barrows, with two wheels in the front, to carry all the 300 WSM brass I'm gonna buy...

Yes, please make some 225 Winchester brass. It is the basic case for some outstanding handgun wildcat rounds (JDJ series), and it has been very difficult to find.

Also, how about some WSSM brass that is NOT formed from WSM brass, so it's not insanely over thick walled and granite hard? Killed that whole line of cartridges.

Come on guys! You have gotten so off target, I do understand but the consensus is we will buy your brass! LOL Hope all have a great CV-19 evening.

I would also put a vote in for the 225 brass. Even years back it was so spotty on finding it was the main reason I never got on the JDJ wagon.

You have 6BR and now 7BR, I would think some 22BR brass that is just a touch long would be something to look at. I just got one this past year. Not that there were any big issues to making brass from 6BR, it’s still a hassle.
Guys warned me that it was a good solid shooting little cartridge, it is almost boring. I think more would get on board with it if brass was available.

Tim, thanks for your presence here on Accurate. It's refreshing to see a company that's open to the needs of its customers. After having ust finished converting #100 Peterson brass from 6 BR to 22 BR, I'm impressed w/ Peterson brass. The neck concentricity is better than Lapua, something I didn't think possible. My wish list is simple: 22 BR (would sure be nice to be able to skip the 6 BR to 22 BR conversion), 204 Ruger (Hornady brass is basically the only available maker. The brass is not bad, but there's room for improvement), 221 Fireball and 225 Winchester.

As I look back on the Norma 6 dasher brass produced for Bullets.com, it was good brass in my opinion, just made wrong for the dimensions not based on the current generic reamer chamber application. There were a few so called "experts" that coerced Bullets.com owner to make the brass extra long so wild-caters could be creative with the extra case capacity. These "experts" ruined the application as it was intended for basic use of the generic chamber. Two major problems happened. The brass came in .040 longer than the standard 6 Dasher reamers made and chambers previously created. Thus the brass would not chamber a preexisting chambers without trimming the OAL down the + .040 which required additional tools and time for most. In addition, the extractor groove were cut inaccurately for some of the bolt actions that were set up slightly different than the new brass. The work around was to trim brass or extend the neck chambers by a new reamer and use a different shell holder and have a gunsmith file your extractor on your bolt. It has to be right the first time to be considered exceptional. The final result was Norma Dasher brass sales volume plummeted.

To keep from repeating this snafu, I believe is that the new cartridge companies exploring a new cartridge sales potential must do their due diligence on each specific cartridge and it's realistic basic application and volume use. I suggest they will not be as effective in (wishful non standard cartridges) instead of a sufficient constant supply of quality standard cartridges.

I am of belief that the cartridge companies that are still in business that originally produced the original parent case should provide the obsolete brass even on a limited bases. The many people that still own firearms that require a specific standard cartridge should be able to find it available at some time even on a limited basis.

Just my .02¢ worth.
