Pet loads for .222 Rem.

I have owned on and off a 222 since 1965. It is my favorite in many ways, Praie Dogs to 300, fox and coyote to 250 with ease. great for a woman or kid to "learn" on and easy to load. Try Ramshot exterminator with 50 gr TNT.........Deadly accurate for me...Enjoy, you will get hooked. My second favorite,
221 Fireball.

You and I are on the same page as far as favorites. I might have to add the 222mag. Have used alot of H335 but since trying some 2015 I have went through 3 8#'s of a full case in 222 and 223. Burns pretty clean and always had great accuracy. Velocity with a 50gr is great also. Haven't found a need in 15yrs to look for a different powder for the deuce.

update on 1950 Model 722 .222 Rem.
Tried Berger 52FB and Sierra 52MK, H322 and 4895
Best 3 shot grp 1/4" Berger and H322 21.5, opened to 3/8" with 22.5
Best with Sierra 3/8" with 23.5 H 4895 1/2", 22.5 H322, 9/16"with21.5
Now that I have some preliminary results, will try 5shot grps with a high power scope.
All were loaded 0.02" off rifling, Lapua brass, BR 4 Primers.
No wonder everyone likes the .222.

This is very timely for me. I'm just starting to work up loads for two Sako L461's, an original repeater in 222 Mag with custom stock and a single shot 222 Rem with a Hart barrel. I need to bed both of them, but I want to get some loads through them to get an idea of pressure limits and potential accuracy. I'd like to hear some more loads with Ramshot Tac and Exterminator if anyone has tried them.

Yup, I am a H322 fan 22.5grs and a 53gr Sierra Match King .010 off the lands shoots little bug hole groups out of my 700 Remington with a 1 in 13 twist Broughton 5 C barrel.

Those Sako's with the L461 actions sure do bring back memories I had (2) one with a sporter barrel 24" long and a Heavy barreled both in 222 I used to shoot one in the sporter class and the other in the open class and did a lot of winning with both of them. They are what got me to build this rifle I have today. I had been without a .222 for twenty years, It is good to have one again.
