Perfect scope for a long action?

It would be helpful to know what your budget is. No wrong answer, BTW. Just know that some folk will still suggest you spend twice what you said, but just tune them out.

I think the meopta and trijicon models would not have much room for adjustment. I have a meopta on one of my rifles and the eye box is not very generous. I do not have experience with trijicon and I don't think that they are carried locally to check out.

As far as bases, I think if it came to swapping the bases I would just go with 30mm rings and then this wouldn't be quite as challenging. There are some readily available talley bases that are compatible with this rifle.

And for budget, very difficult question. I think if I found the perfect illuminated scope with a 1" tube I would stretch to $600. If I end up swapping bases to 30mm, my heart would say to buy a VX3 firedot but my practical side would probably just want to use the firedot that I have off another rifle.

I did find information that Leupold made a Mark AR Mod 1 3x9 firedot with a 1" tube - but of course they were discontinued and cost more to find now than they did new.

Analysis Paralysis

You have 5.25" between your mounts. I would also measure from the back side of your rear ring to the end of the eye piece on your current scope (assuming that distance is currently working for you). That measurement can then be compared to new models you're looking at...

Well, I decided to stop overthinking it and roll the dice to order a Mark AR Mod 1 3x9 firedot from 'USA Binoculars". Hopefully they actually have one in stock and it ships. If not, I'm going to check out the Burris scopes in store. If that falls through - I'll go with new talley mounts and swap over a firedot from another rifle or go with a VX3 3.5x10. I appreciate all of the input here and direction to a few specific models that I hadn't considered.
