And like Ridgway Pa. and it's cyclonic winds. Your shooting thru
a wall of wind going one way, then that bullet has to travel thru
the opposite wall going the other way while that constant cyclone
is roaming all over the place. It's fun till it aint.....LOL Then there's
Anderson Creek !!

At the 2021 / 1K nationals we had a decent to sporty conditions going into the final HG relay when a huge wind kicked from the right, switching iirc from 5:00 to 3:00 ish, anyway the choice to shoot or wait it out is the question. Well 8 out of 10 shooters DQ’ed and the two that waited had poor targets but at least survived the ordeal.

I was burning a couple of leaf piles about 10 yards apart and saw similar switching patterns in the smoke. Rarely did they both blow the same direction.
Made me wonder if you popped different colored smoke at a couple of distances on a 600-1000 yard range if it would help in learning to read mirage and flags or just confuse the hell out of you.
