Pattern Makers (Gun) Vice Upgrade

It is on the way so when it arrives I will check and let you know. From what I have seen they all look the same, just different colors, and prices.
They appear to be the same. The only outstanding difference I have seen is in the handle. Some are wheels and others are a crank style.
Let me know.
I sure love mine. Seem to find more and more uses for the vice. At first I wasn't sure. I am going to add a quick mount for it so that I can easily move it out of the way on the bench, when not using it. But haven't decided on how I want to approach it just yet. Will probably fab up the mount for myself.

Best I can measure with imprecise instrument is:
Top 2 holes are 2 11/16" apart, center to center
Bottom 2 holes are 2 13/16" apart, center to center
Top and bottom holes are 1 3/16" apart, center to center.

Those measurements are very close to the hole pattern in the brackets. Within reason. Also, the bracket holes are enlarged slightly to account for variations between different vices.
I am sure that this would work.

Many of us are always on the lookout for the perfect gun vice. I found everything I was looking for in the Grizzly "Pattern Makers Vice". This is an amazing vice that can hold a weapon in many different positions, safely and securely. It is now my go to tool for working on my competition and collector guns (M1 Garand, 1947 Winchester 94 Flat Band, etc.). F-Class John did a really nice review on YouTube if you would like to learn more about the vice. The popularity of the vice has grown with quick mounts now available from companies like Howard's Total Vice which adds additional flexibility, provides easy mounting and removal as is needed.

The only problem with the vice is that it lacked a safety net to prevent impact to the lower rails should you slip while loading the firearm into the vice.

To solve this I have designed an easy to install bracket that fits behind the jaw of the vice and provides a bottom support to the firearm. It is simple to install, just mounts behind the current jaw and provides a stable and safe support for the firearm.
