Parker hand crafted Fly Rod

Are you wanting a fiberglass or graphite rod?
I have access to both and focus on blanks that are both very forgiving and precise in casting. The goal is for the rod to be as natural of an extension of you as can possibly be. This in turn allows you to focus on water.

On to the next! 7’ fiberglass blank for a 3/4 wt line. Amboyna burl real seat with nickel silver fittings. I will have a very difficult time letting this one go.
This one I’m building for a very dear friend of mine. He has no idea that it’s in the works.

My finish protocol for reel seats is perfected! I quite possibly have the most beautiful collection of wood blanks on planet Earth. Here are a few examples:

My 300NMI is at Tom Meredith's now for completion; then the CERUS stock is on to B'cz for clear coat.
Brett is not cheap, but after seeing so many of his finished creations I do not care. Heirloom if there is such a thing other than a new barrel when required...

Brett’s work is without equal.

Beautiful rod. I amy have to sell a few of mine and ask you to build one, or two, for me. I live in the Finger Lakes region of NY. I fish everything from pan fish to king salmon. I have a beautiful 3wt a gentleman in Colorado built for me a couple years ago. I fell in love with that one at first cast. I need something with a little more beef for the big boys. Hooking a 20lb steelhead or 30lb salmon in our fast, narrow streams is fun.

A small sample of the hundreds of reel seat blanks I have. I selected each one.

So, talk to me about a 9" 4-5wt. Two-piece for portability without too much flex. I would leave it to your discretion as far as graphite or fiberglass...

ISS

Two piece blanks are quite rare in any format today. The stiffness is rolled into the taper regardless of sections. Presentation-wise, the fiberglass blank will yield the softer presentation. Graphite will be a bit lighter, perhaps slightly more accurate. But honestly, the caster affects accuracy more than anything else. I have access to some lovely graphite blanks that are reminiscent of Fenwick HMG or Iron Feather blanks from late 1980s. They cast beautifully and are intuitive. Accurate too. They are made in Europe.

Tell me for what and where you will want to use this rod. That will help anchor some things.
