Parker hand crafted Fly Rod

A beautiful Fly Rod built on an American made graphite rod blank. It has a sweet moderate action that excels at precise, delicate presentation of dry flies. Nickel Silver fittings and a beautiful Mexican Kingwood (Dalbergia Congestiflira) reel seat. Flor grade cigar grip and an agate stripping guide. Recoil, Titanium snake guides used throughout. Silk wraps on the guides. 7.5’ 3-4 wt.

A Sage or Orvis rod with no where near the aesthetics of this rod is $900-$1000. Life is too short to fish with ugly rods!

Rod #001

$650 shipped.

Woof! I am already drooling, just thinking about being up in Yellowstone trying to finesse a nice Lake Brown...

I live down stream from the Kern River drainage. We have three species of native trout in our back yard: the Little Kern Golden Trout, the Volcano Creek Golden Trout and the Kern River Rainbow. I’ve caught two of the three so far. Beautiful fish in each case. They need a subtle approach and a delicate presentation.

I’m 55. I might turn out 10 rods per year. My rods are heirloom quality and are well thought out for both performance and aesthetics. I assure you that you will never fish with a more beautiful rod than mine. Tight lines!

I helicopter logged down in that country. We lived in Kernville and worked way upstream near Johnsondale (sp)...the townsite was for sale at the time. There was a tiny creek up there full of hungry golden trout. Beautiful fish and good eating; we found out later that they were protected.
Great times!

I was blessed to grow up with a couple of Tonkin Cane nine-footer single piece rods a 3 and a 6-7. Somehow, they disappeared while I was in Vietnam.
Sparker, do you have a website?

I do not have a website yet. It will come in due time. I am happy to send you any information and or pics. The blank was made here in the US and is of an IM6 composition. Very easy to cast with high precision. It’s a beautiful rod in every aspect without being garish.

More pics. This rod is pure magic in hand. I build each one as if I were building it for me. I am reticent to let one go. That said, I can only fish one at a time. I am “hooked” into building them. I will never accept anything that isn’t beautiful in every aspect.

Medium, virtually all the flex occurs in the forward half. The tip recovery is very exact but not ricochet like. Casting it is instantly intuitive.

Notice How the colors in the Agate stripping guide match the colors in the reel seat and the silk which will be used for wraps?

A modern day Leonard or Thomas! My wife is the current custodian of her grandfathers(paternal) Thomas Brown Tone Special rod and case. One tip broke years ago and she had it fixed by a gent in Brewer, ME who used to work for Leonard when they were in Bangor ME. The other tip is original length. The repaired one works just fine when she drums up enough courage to use it.
