Parcel Tracking.

Time to visit the post office. They can track better than the net.
They can actually access info that the tracking # won't give us. That being said, early this year I had 3 Remington 541 triggers shipped back to me from a gunsmith in IA. They made it to Birmingham Alabama where they sat for 8 days. EIGHT days! That main distribution facility made the TV news down there and apparently somebody kicked some ass because the Postmaster was interviewed where he apologized and said the backup had been cleared and no future problems were anticipated. I've recently received packages that barely slowed down in the facility. Somebody fixed it!

USPS has always been the best in my area. Recently with tracking my packages won’t have scans then boom they’re at the destination facility and are delivered on time. I can live with that

I mailed some paperwork and used a green card return so I could show that the receiver got it. Mailed to Denver, they signed for it on April 16th and I got it back yesterday. So, 7 weeks from Denver to me, and I live about 200 miles away!!

In the last few years I've had bad problems with the usps. I put tracking on all payments and shipments. Some payments have sat fo as long as two weeks in a distribution center before moving again. Things have gone to hell in a handbasket since Dejoy took over as postmaster.

Nothing gun related that I have ordered has come with an accurate tracking order. I just recived a holster today and tracking has not entered it to enroute. This seems to be the norm.

I once had 8lbs of gun powder get lost at my local distrubitor (i could walk there) the deal was made good but I was hoping for that free 8lbs............screw them......lol

The tracking isn’t always accurate. I recently had a package shipped to me. The tracking said a ticket was made for pick up, and it stayed that way for over a week. Then one afternoon it said the package was finally on the way. The next morning it said that the package was at my post office for pick up. They don’t do mail delivery where I live.

My pkg finally arrived. It was mailed USPS GROUND ADVANTAGE. I thought it was priority mail as it had a tracking number. It had to come up on the boat which takes a while.

With the amount of packages in transit every day, I am amazed that any shipper does as well as they do. And, remember - the USPS is stuck with government guidance concerning who gets hired.

I realize that there is a risk involved with shipping and no matter what they say about insurance and making claims - it will still be a PITA. So, unless someone twists my arm - I just don't ship anything and I try to shop locally.

These days USPS does a better job than either UPS or FedEx, which of course isn't saying much. Creating an account with any of them improves visibility somewhat and USPS I have to say informed delivery seems to also have a side effect of spam amounts of tracking info. Which isn't all bad since not every package goes to my wife.

If something is sent to me and I'm not getting movement, I ask the seller as they always seem to have a direct line to the shipper and can get status out of them.

A bit off topic, but a couple weeks ago I learned that if I send a check to someone via my CU bill pay, they track that check every step of the way. I didn't ask how, but I asked if one had been cashed and support said oh we track those, lets see where it is. She comes back and says the check is in xx city, should arrive to them in a day or two. No idea if other places do that, but it's nice my CU tracks them.
