Panda Barrel Swaps

While not a Panda my Defiance actions swap barrels swap perfectly in the same way. Here's how I do it and yes I'm in the camp of leave the scope on (as are a lot of the guys I shoot with) but totally respect those who take it off as well. My threads are never tight enough that there's anything close to 'jarring' so I've never worried about it. If it was something like a factory action and barrel or if someone else had installed the barrel and I was unsure of it's torque then I'd take it off. For me I've seen it done a variety of ways but the one common denominator I think everyone agrees on when it comes to swapping barrels is making sure you have good gunsmith doing it.

Mike, 5 or 6, 30br Barrels oughta cover you And the grandchildren! LOL. :p

5-6 .308 Win barrels for FTR. :D

I don't really want to do anything with those 5-6 barrels beyond breaking them in and initial load dev....once that's done I was just going to set them aside until I need to replace a barrel, or my primary gun goes down.

As far as 30BR and other chamberings, I wanted to find a smith who had some interesting reamers on hand (maybe 6BR, 300 WSM, who knows) that didn't need the action. Basically I didn't want to fully invest in a chambering until I knew I liked it/it had potential, and I didn't want to be without an action for a few months.

@F Class John - That's exactly what I plan to be doing (in many respects).
