pac-nor remington barrel nut

Hi
Just wondered if anyone here has tried a pac-nor barrel with the remington nut
and if so how did it shoot.

What do you mean by the Remington nut mate I presume you mean the barrel threaded for the Remington 700 Action , as it happens i have a Pacnor Barrel on my Remington 700 Blue Printed Heavy Varmint / Tactical HS Precision Stock Pro-Series M24 , In a Contoured & Polished Super-Match Grade Stainless Steel Blank @ bare barrel base price $310.00 in 6mm .243 :-[ its a varmint/ heavy Target barrel 1-8 Twist , 4 Groove in .243 Ackley Improved , It shoots very very well , even out to 1000Yds or so it shoots very tight groups too , I have mounted on top of it a NightForce NSX 12-42 X 56 with the NP2DD Reticle on a Warne Piccatiny Rail with Burris Tactical mounts , I would not fail to recommend these barrels to anyone and know several other shooters who swear by them ! :-X

Pacnor makes some great bbls. I have a 6.8 SPC Pacnor on a Savage 16 and it shoots amazingly well.

I have 3 of their nuts. One is on my 40x rimfire right now and I think it is an excellent way to attach a small dia bbl to this action without having to make a sleeve for the receiver. As for using one on a Remington centerfire it would work great for somebody wanting to be able to order a bbl and install it themselves.

You could also send them your action and have them fit the bbl without the nut in the standard fashion. It is actually far quicker to change the bbl if it has a fixed shoulder.

I think he does mean Rem nut. PacNor makes a remington nut that works like a savage action. It makes setting up headspace easier if you don't have the means to cut it with a lathe.
