outside case deburring?

I know is fairly rudimentary process in case prep. But what tool are you using for outside case neck deburring? I've been using the RCBS one made by Wilson for years. Is there something better?Thankyou

I use one and then a short spin in a tool stuffed with 4 ought steel wool smooths any roughness caused during the deburr process.

I run mine thru a RCBS Case Mate with the 45 degree cutter up. I do not want burrs on either side of the case mouth, so I run first - quickly - mouth down, thru the inside debur, then quickly the outside, and again inside. Burrs left on either side of the case mouth can foul up accuracy.

Actually, that is why the champfer tool is made that way, i.e., to cut in and out.

Most tools designed for the outside do the job. My final step however AFTER the deburring tool is 0000 steel wool to get the small leftover and crud off the neck and case opening. I then run a bore brush into the case mouth to make sure nothing is left behind on the inside of the neck.

Thanks for the replies... I had forgot about the steel wool....so it wasn't a wasted question !!
Thanx again

I just got a rcbs 3 way cutter for my rcbs trimmer. I tried and tried to get it set up properly to chamfer the outside of the case mouths correctly but never could. It would always chamfer most of the case mouth well and leave or barely touch a 1/4 of it.

I just got .223 and .308 3 way tools from Forster. I have the power base set up in a drill press. I trimmed and chamfered 300 .223 mil brass in 30 min and it all turned out perfect. they aren't cheap ($60 ea) but I am going to get the .244 and .284 also

Ackleys-- I recently picked up a used Forster .284 3 way cutter at a gun show. Soon as I tried it, I ordered 3 more in 6, 6.5, and 308. Saves a lot of time, no burrs, inside or out, and trim length is very square and level. My old Wilson has been relegated to second team status for now. I'm with you on the Forster for sure.
