Optics Planet

I tried optics planet a few times. I have better things to do do thank wait for their deliveries , excuses, and blaming me for why I havent received the product. They basically said go away and leave us alone. I have. Much better service at same or lower prices from tons of companies. I will never deal with them.
 
I've ordered many times from them, but learned early that when they have the best price on an item it's good to not be in a hurry. Returns have been excellent with them. If I need an item faster and it's only a few dollars more I do shop elsewhere, although that hasn't always gone well either.
 
I have had good results with Optics Planet and have ordered from them several times. One time I called to order a Sightron lll 10 to 50 power scope and the salesman said it was out of stock. He then had me hold while he contacted a distributor that they normally do not buy from and found it in stock there and had it shipped directly from the distributor to me. I paid the Optics Planet sale price minus 10% from a coupon I had received from Optics Planet with an earlier order.
 
My 4 purchases from them have been positive, but when shtf a couple years ago, complaints surfaced. Anymore, I wont buy from any company that doesn't keep updated stock.
I refuse to BO anything either.
 
I called in an order this past Tuesday. They confirmed that everything that I order was in stock. Gave them one of my 7% off coupons over the phone (from putting in a product review) and the applied it, packed and shipped and I had the merchandize Friday. On my recent defective Beretta Part (Manufacturing flaw not OpticsPlanets fault) they issued me a return prepaid label in about 15 minutes by E-mail and my credit card was credited three days after I dropped off the part at UPS. Guess I remain lucky.

I had orders to the Optics Planet about a year ago and everything went very smooth, I'll probably order from them again when necessary.

Think about the saying that was put on T-shirts a few years ago. Sometimes it really does happen ;)
 
Late last Sunday night I ordered a spotting scope, online. It shipped out Monday morning, and I had it Thursday! Excellent job of packaging. They honored their free shipping, and also a discount coupon on their site. I sure don't have a problem with them. In fact, my experience with them is as good as it gets.
 
Be patient, there were two weekends in the timeframe you mentioned and many many people are on vacation this time of the year.
I've had good luck with them on several items. Good thing we can still get what we want these days even if we must wait a bit !
 
Old thread, but wanted to add my recent experience.

Placed an order last week for a scope from Optics Planet.
The next day I get an order confirmation with a tracking number. I wait three days, it's still 'Ready for pick up'.
Customer Service says 'Oh, it's the post office. Ever since covid they are late in scanning packages'. BS.
It's now 5 days and the package is still 'Ready for pickup'.
I've told them to cancel my shipment - bought the same scope for less elsewhere.
 
If you opt for the free shipping,(5-10 days) they will print a label and then sit on it and ship the other pkgs
that people paid a premium for. You didn't think you'd get the same service as those
that paid the $10-30 for shipping.
The USPS does this all the time with priority and Amazon pkgs getting all
the attention.
 
Ordered a NF 12-42x BR scope from Optics Planet July 15, via phone, 10% off & free shipping. Great service, had scope in 4 days.
 
I've had nothing but positive experiences with OpticsPlanet. They'll negotiate on price and free shipping is more than fair even if I do have to wait. In this day and time, shipping delays are a norm rather than an exception.

I should give them a call. I ordered a March on July 12th and it still says “processing”.
 
My theory is they don't actually have the scope in stock. It was near the end of the month; they invoice when the product is 'shipped'; they needed the revenue to meet their internal sales targets.
I've seen this tactic used at companies I've worked for in the past.
 
My experience with OP was about the same as the initial post in this thread. All of there email adverts go directly to the scam folder and get deleted daily. I only allow getting burned once in a row.

Probably ten years ago now, I ordered a scope from them. Within a day I got a call from a rep stating that the scope was out of stock and no idea when it would be available again. The gentleman offered to substitute another scope (actually an upgrade) for the same price for my trouble. Scope arrived within a couple days.
Fast forward to about three months ago, I emailed a question about a part (scope mount) they listed and received a totally wrong answer. When I responded, trying to explain, I received an indignant, snotty answer in return. A phone call resulted in a total lack of concern or even interest. I finally ordered the part from another vendor who did know my answer and was quite helpful. Haven't been back to them since.
 
Well lo and behold, the scope showed up this afternoon. No communication, but I have at least part of my order. The manufacturer was able to get the scope here from clear across the country, before I have received the in stock parts via a border state. ???
You get what you pay for with free shipping. Glad you got your scope.
