I normally do not call out a manufacturer on the net. My experience with Optics Planet is causing me to make an exception. I ordered three items from them on July 27th. All items promised free shipping. Two items were in stock. I was issued a tracking number in about three days for the two in stock items. That tracking number came up "no tracking info available until yesterday". The items showed up somewhere for the first time on Aug. 3rd. Delivery is said to be expected Aug. 8th. I live in an adjoining state, so this seems ridiculous to me. The third item that I ordered was a scope. The scope is to be direct shipped from the manufacturer. They tell me that I will be notified when it ships. As of today, Wed. August 5th, I still have no information on the scope. I have contacted customer service at Optics Planet by email at least 3 times. They really are no help, just excuses. They obviously do not value my business and I will not buy from them in the future. Has anyone else had the same experience there? Perhaps mine is an isolated incident?
 
I'm not sure I fully understand your experience but if it involves a tracking number and a misrouted package it may not be Optic Planet's fault. I've never had a problem with Optics Planet, but I have order things and found that the postal service sometimes doesn't log the package movement for a couple of days after it's shipped. I also tracked a package that was properly addressed to me as it toured the country and was finally delivered to someone six hundred miles away from me. It took the post office about a week to get the package back and deliver it to me.
 
I have had good experiences with optic planet. I have had issues with postal tracking numbers, they never worked.
I have had ups deliver to local post office, 2 blocks away from my home(midway shipping) and it took a week to get to my home. I was not impressed to say the least.

I buy from OpticsPlanet on a regular basis and have learned to call to check inventory and place my order on the phone. If you check inventory on line and place an on-line order, if there are other orders ahead of you for the same thing, it can be out of stock when your order comes up to be filled.

They have had a number of things from past orders, shipped directly from the Manufacture and I have never had a problem, so this could be a manufacturer's issue.

I find the Live Chat line to be great for communicating with them.

Just got a defective genuine Beretta choke tube from them. No problem with returning it. The web site printed me a pre-paid shipping label, it went out the day before yesterday and I got a notice today that it was received and my account was credited.

I also like the discount coupons I get from them on every order and for every product review I do.

Well lo and behold, the scope showed up this afternoon. No communication, but I have at least part of my order. The manufacturer was able to get the scope here from clear across the country, before I have received the in stock parts via a border state. ???
 
For me to send something to someone in the same town as I am in, even if by U.S. postal service, it has to go to Riverhead, New York first and then come back. It can take longer than parts I get from Aurora, Illinois (home of Optics Planet).

I am sure to be able to offer free shipping on almost everything, they send out a lot of things and have cut a great contract that might have some restrictions. I know that when they split and order due to being backordered, they do not wait and hold it until everything is in to ship, nor do they charge shipping because they are shipping less than the amount that allows for free shipping.

Besides, I have never seen OpticsPlanet beat CameralandNY's prices.
 
I cannot imagine better people to deal with than those at Eurooptic. Sometimes you may find prices that are alluring and I am frugal - but I never worry about "what if" happens when dealing with a trusted source.
 
I've ordered from Optics Planet quite a few times with quite a few thousand dollars spent. Usually I call and speak to someone directly instead of ordering online which could contribute to my 100% positive experiences. I even sent a couple scopes back for exchanges for no other reason than I just changed my mind; never once had a problem--of course I always called and explained the situation first and was polite and professional--funny how this can make all the difference in the world.

That being said, I've also ordered a few things from Euro Optic and have had equally positive experiences, really friendly and helpful folks.

To the OP, glad to hear your scope showed up, sorry you're having a negative experience, hope it gets better.
 
Buy from SWFA. www.swfa.com Their customer service is awesome and they have a trade-in program. Never had a bad experience with SWFA and they have a 110% low price guarantee. They are the first place I look.

Over the years it's been my experience that Optics Planet can SOMETIMES be a pain. I still order from them but not if I am in a big rush. Shipping issues happen. I had a barrel shipped UPS to me in Delaware from Akron, Ohio via Salt Lake City. ::) I forget offhand but it was about two weeks in transit.
 
If I really need or want something immediately, I usually just pay the extra for 2 day air.

Bought three times from this outfit. Once was good and the rest were...............well you know. I was told (not verified) that this company buys up stock from going out of business LGS and the sells it. One set of rings I bought were in the wrong sleeve and rusted as if they had been stored under water. Junk. There is no customer service that I can see. For me, if every other source is barren then I may try them again. But probably not. >:(
 
I had to go thru google wallet to pay for a nightforce, a huge pain. Its not that they just tell you about that, after doing it all on their page and paying extra for next day shipping and hoping to have it by friday, nothing, I had to call and request a tracking number and then is when I was told about google wallet, to make sure I'm me and myself, for my own good. I got it on monday. never again!
