Opions Sightron Slll 8-32x56

I had a S3 and its glass was "Just fine" but then I found a greatly reduced price on a NIB Athlon Cronus BTR 4.5x29x56mm ,comparing the two the S3 isn't even close,so I sold it . Athlon is on my 6mm Creedmoor going to MT.

I have a Sightron 8-32 LRTD that has 1/4 min clicks and i'v seriously considered selling it and replacing with a 1/8 min.

Send it back to Sightron and they will change out the turrets and make them 1/8 min for $135. I have had a couple of them done. Turn around time has been about 10 days for me.

the SIII glass is a good bit better than the PST, I have a 8x32 MOA-H Illuminated on a high performance smokeless muzzleloader, it takes a real beating spitting out 325 grain bullets @ 2850+ and so far not even a cough, tracks well, illumination is great and I really like the reticle, serves double duty as a bench/hunting rig.
For the dollar I would think it will be hard to beat??

I see a sightron SIII 8-32 for sale on this site, darn I wish I could justify it. They are good. Just shot my new 10-50 SIII at 1k last week, it really was great clarity and tracked so dead on.

Although I am a dealer for Athlon Optics, I am Very Impressed with the resolution quality and functioning of their 8-34x Argos BTR ($390) and 8-34x Helos BTR ($580). Essentially the Helos is an HD Glass upgrade of the Argos model with better lens coatings, illum reticle controls and battery moved to the side-focus turret, and a very nice locking turret system. Both are 56mm objective and come with flip-up lens covers. Lifetime Transferable Warranty.

I tested, and reported on comparing the Argos 8-34x & 6-24x with the top-of-the-line Cronus BTR. The Helos is relatively newly introduced within the past 6-7wks, but appears from limited evaluation to be significantly better than the already excellent performing Argos BTR. The Argos 8-34x tested superbly out ot 1100yds and tracked correctly. The 8-34x design does have somewhat limited range of elevation and windage at about 15-16 mils (as tested), but place it on a 20moa or greater Picatinny rail and you are set. The scope will zero at 100 and give you about all the elevation to use. Reticle choice is MOA or MIl-Rad and both are FFP. Illum turns off between dial settings.

The higher end Athlons are Exceptional in terms of quality and features. If you compare to other Top-Tier scopemakers and Then look at price, the opportunity is as clear as the optic itself. Worthy of your consideration for sure.
