If you read the thread on the trigger you know you can do in the older 54's also. there are or where some nice old 54's for sale on 6br. ..... JimI don't know that you can, but he's not spending $2,000 either for some short-range practice and fun I also doubt that the used older Anshutz that he's looking at has a 2 oz trigger and whoever mentioned benchrest where did that come from
I'm not following you Jim - The OP asked for "OPINIONS PLEASE" on the CZ & Annie. If you read the thread on the trigger you know you can do in the older 54's also. there are or where some nice old 54's for sale on 6br. ..... Jim

Just sayin I'm Not understanding what you posted.
I agree with Alex. I've had both. Only reason I don't still have the Annie is a guy wanted it a lot more than I did. One thing to add is when you find the ammo your gun likes buy plenty and I mean plenty of it. You may never find another lot that shoots like that.I can say with confidence, there has NEVER been (in competition) a CZ that can keep up with an Anschutz. I used to shoot competition Rimfire using an Anschutz MPR 64 and BR50 and have seen many many variations of both rifle and have never seen a CZ outshoot an Anschutz when shot by a competent shooter. And as Hog wrote, seek out the top grade Rimfire Ammo's guys are using in competition to test in your rifle to get the best results. And for general knowledge, Rimfire Rifles are more sensitive to ammos (alot has to do with the coating material) and finding the right ammo can make the difference of a few points that either puts you in first place or 5th place. Also. NEVER assume what works in one Rimfire Rifle, will work in another, even when made by the same manufacturer. But good luck and have fun which ever way you go!
Also, if you get a chance, get hold of a copy of "The Rifleman's Guide to Rimfire Ammunition" written by Steven Boelter. Steve will give you loads of insight on not only ammo's, but his extensive knowledge via association with the Anschutz brothers in Germany who give him their rifles to test. Tons of info there as well as the website, Rimfire Central where Steve sometimes posts.

Jim, Have you used a CZ with the single set trigger. They're nowhere close to what Annies have but seem to be considerably better than the standard CZ trigger. I'll admit, the standard CZs leave a lot to be desired and the cobbed up kits that are sold for them are sad.
Cz's there are no good triggers for them I have one great gun, junk trigger ...... if he plans to shoot target with it. Then he ask about a Rem 541. A 54 Annie lets you start with it and get a good trigger. Buy once and cry once. Plus he was looking at an Anschutz.......just giving him options, now do you understand ..... Jim
If there's a problem with an Annie trigger, it's dirt and it doesn't take much, maybe even a couple flakes of burnt powder. I had one that sometimes hung and it was nothing more than a good cleaning to bring it back to normal.I know I have one in mine, after I worked it over it is good, but no where what is needed for competition. Great to use on ground hogs in the yard. My Annie 5018 trigger after cleaning and adjusting it is great....... Jim

I am curious if you have used the Mr fly after market trigger for the 455? I don't understand the neg. Reference. It is the go to trigger for the 455's. Maybe I'm missing something?
I'm not sure how low mine is set, but definitely less than 6 oz's. Never checked it cause I set it as low as I wanted on the gun. It can be lighter and safe. As long as it's crispy and I know when it's gonna break, I'm good.
