I consider my self rifle rich and barrel poor. Since buying a bore scope a couple of years ago and monitoring my barrels, it is time for a change. Stopped shooting these rifles because the accuracy has dropped off. Fortunately I have the money and the time to get the job done. In the area, there are 3 barrel makers to choose from; Brux, Bartline, and Krieger. These are my thoughts and would like yours?
17 Remington, 1in 9 Douglas, 700 Remington, 26 inches (coyotes)
22-250 Browning B78, 1 in 14, Krieger,26 inches, heavy contour (plinking)
220swift, Ruger 77, 1 in 8, Kreiger, 26 inches, heavy contour (plinker)
243 Winchester. Model 70, 1 in 10, Barline 26 inches medium contour, (hunting rifle)
25-06, 721 Remington 26 inches, Have not thought about twist rate or manufacturer, but like to shoot 100 grain plus bullets.
7-06AI, FN action, 26 inches medium contour, Brux, undetermined twist rate. Shoot mainly 150 grain bullets- my go to hunting rifle.
7-06 AI, FN action, heavy barrel, length and twist undetermined. Brux. Would like to use for long range club shooting off the bench.
Please feel free to pass along your thoughts.
