PS: The following statement from a "teacher's" spouse . . .

Teachers are egregiously underpaid. 6 years of school + a masters to make under 50K. Its one of the most important jobs in the world and yet one of the most underappreciated.

The "time off" is a joke. They never stop preparing and planning lessons, fielding phone calls from parents and admins, and they have to constantly keep up with changing state/federal requirements.

Not to mention all the parents who think they know better. Kids bringing guns and drugs up to school. Having their personal belongings stolen, etc... but it's never the kid or parents fault. Teacher takes all the blame.

Its a thankless job. I know high school drop outs who make more than the average teacher. Its sad.

5 classes in a year is doggie doo doo compared to full time, some people need to remove head from elsewhere.I'm done here.

Well I am glad you are done here. If I need to remove my head from someplace you need to remove your whole body. You are part of a corrupt system. Of course you can not see the problems of the system.

I did 5 classes to help out. The sad fact of it is most teachers are so far gone down the socialist path there is no return for them. I worked in a small rural school in ND. Not an area that is known for socialism. What is even worst is so many are just ok with how the teaching system is working. Then supporting it with out right lies. Pay is a huge factor. I bet most here do not make what a teacher makes. I bet it is far less than what a teacher makes.

With that being said just be a man and state what you want to state to me not like a socialist and make a back hand comment where I will not get a notification of your comments.

Now back to your tax comments.

People, the two areas I highlighted are the sentences I will focus on.

1st, I totally agree with teachers taking the socialist path. It absolutely shocked the hell out of me! This is something I thought I would never see, let alone witness it happening in LSU! Several "tried" to go public with their views, but were instantly put back in their caves. They found out very quick Socialist/Liberal ways are not going to happen down here in the deep south! NOT the majority, maybe a few lost dead heads will pop out in a few places. My nephew being one of them!

I am sure what you state is a fact, in ND, I would bet that being the case, teachers being paid more than the average citizen. In most Southern States, it's totally opposite. The teacher with the 6 year degree is on the bottom of the totem pole! As I stated above, teachers in Louisiana are ranked around 49th, if not 50th in pay Nationwide, anyway it's a tie between Mississippi & Louisiana. And many of our teachers are teaching in a "war" zone because of some a** changing a few laws around, I believe the ACLU had a large input with this mistake!

The "somewhat sad" part, is anyone with a High School Education in Louisiana, graduating with maybe a 2.8 GPA is making in excess of $120k per year in our industrial plants and/or refineries! Many are almost there in somewhat similiar industries.

I mentioned above different parts of the country would vary with these stats. ND & Louisiana are definetly 2 States that are lopsided! Montana & Alaska are close to ND from what I understand. There are a few other States that could be thrown in the list.

Otherwise, lets try to keep our thoughts "civil" and GP rated in respect of all the members here.

Merry Christmas to All,
Dennis
