One of Bayou Rifles Finest

One of the fellows I shoot with is Johnny Ingram. I met Johnny a couple of years ago at his first 300 yard match. John shoots F-T/R. He was shooting a 24" barreled .308 and I believe (I am not quite sure) at that time, with a Harris Bi-Pod. He shot back-to-back cleans with a HIGH "X" count. I thought to myself "this guy can shoot"! First time out and look what he is doing!

Well John has bought some of the best equipment and has finely honed his loading skills and John has become one of the BEST F-T/R shooters around and maybe the best at Bayou Rifles. Last year, at an approved 600 yard match, he shot a 200-16X! That WOULD have tied a National Record, had it not been for the fact it was an "approved", instead of a Registered Match. Today, at our 1000 yard match, we had some pretty switchy wind conditions with some fairly stout gusts. We are in our "summer format" of only 2 / 20 shot matches, instead of 3 matches. John, on his first match, shooting F-T/R, shot a 200-10X! That is good enough to set a "Club Record" and not too far off from a National Record. Then when the wind was at it's worst today, he shot a 199-9X! If anybody does not think shooting a 200 then backing it up with a 199 in F-T/R is not some phenomenal shooting, just give it a whirl some time. He is also a very nice guy who WILL NOT "toot his own horn" so I am doing it for him! If you want to test your meddle against John, I believe he is going to the Nationals at Ben Avery this fall.

John, if I have messed up on my "stats" please feel free to chime in and set the record straight! He is one of the most amazing "shooting machines" I have ever seen, let alone doing it from a most difficult discipline, F-T/R!

Great shooting my friend!

I forgot, John is "JohnnyI" on this forum..

Great shooting indeed. Not only did Johnny shoot 200 & 199 in yesterday's 1000 yard match, two weeks ago he shot 200-12 & 200-13 (if I remember the x-count correctly) at the most recent 600 yard match.

So his last 4 matches are 200, 200, 200, 199... Incredible.

Great shooting Johnny, you definately have that gun/load hammering and you're making the right wind calls!.....I enjoyed shooting with all you guys yesterday, look forward to the next time.

Johnny Ingram is a great shooter indeed. He is the current Texas F-T/R LR Champion and for good reason. I believe many will know his name as soon as he shoots at the Nationals.

Congrats Johnny!

Thanks for the kind words Ben. I was very fortunate to have drawn your lane back at the 300 yard match in January 2014. What a treat to be on the lane with one of the most knowledgeable shooters, reloaders, etc. in the game for my first Fclass match! Also a huge benefit to have so many great shooters on the line at Bayou. Not only great shooters, but extremely good people!

Hey you earned it my friend! No thanks necessary! Yes, we do have a GREAT bunch of guys at Bayou Rifles. Not only can they shoot, they are fun to be around! Also, let's not forget the GREAT bunch of guys from Palo Alto that always come to shoot with us! Betwixt both clubs, there are some tremendous shooters that makes for some fantastic competition!

That's what it's all about - good times, good guys and good shooting. . I just ran to the fridge for a cold beer for a toast - Cheers to all - and Nice shooting Johnny!

Johnny, you are the man, I am proud to call you friend and to be on the same team as you, can't wait for the Nationals, put that barrel in the safe today.

That is some impressive shooting by any standard.

There are some great folks at Bayou Rifles and we enjoy the camaraderie and good natured ribbing between our 2 clubs.

I don't know if it's something in the air or the sun cooking our brains, but here at Bayou rifle we're blessed to have not only super shooters but super nice guys.

This is the only place that I know where competitors come over and help me by giving me tips on how improve my shooting. Even a duffer like me gets to hang with these guys and learn from them. Guys like JohnnyI, ShootDots, Erik, whatsthediff and Down South can't help but make me want to be not only a better shooter, but a better man. I am very fortunate to know you guys.

kindest regards,

Joe

P.S. Johnny, I was able to snag 500 of those cases from bullets.com Thanks for the tip.

Way to go Johnny. You are the man.. Ron

Hey Ron! You should have seen the wind on the 2nd relay. The flags were STRAIGHT OUT and "snapping" at times. The "fishtailing effect" was fairly quick, however, not totally unmanageable. He did a PHENOMENAL job!

Gotta say as a new member to Bayou Rifles and a new F-TR shooter, the folks there are very helpful and have really helped me a great deal with info and advise. Great shooter yes - great people and sportsmen - for sure.
