Highest f-class score for 80 shots at 600 yards I have heard of.

Last month in Lacrosse I was at a 600 yard match shooting f-class. The conditions were what you dream about. There was hardly any wind, not more than 3mph all day. The 1st place score for the day for f-class was 798 47x's out of 800. Marlyn Kemnitz is the guy that shot the score. His scores were 199 10x, 199 15x, and two 200 11x's in a row. I told Marlyn it must be some sort of record. I did get a picture of the target with his 40 shots in a row in the ten ring. Has anyone heard of a higher score for f-class?

Not F-class but last month at the Butner range Kent Reeve shot a 996.63 at 1000yds. with a match rifle. I can tell you this much the conditions were not ideal. Scores are: 199.12, 200.16, 198.10, 200.13, 199.12

That is some fine, fine shooting, congrads to Marlyn!!!

It would make a GREAT Range Record, the National Record only exsists for 20 @ 600yd., no agg. for 4 X 20 @ 600yds.

Check here for NRA National Records: http://www.nrahq.org/compete/natl_records.asp

If the Program & Match Directors would use the NRA Course of Fire, go the extra step (if they are even NRA Approved) and run Registered Tournaments the National Records would change Monthly in some catagories.

At least have have the Club/Range post it as their Record.

I know its a club record for the new smaller target for f-class. It will probably be on the wall next time I go up there.

Sounds like some pretty good shooting!

At a 4x600 match a couple weeks ago I shot a 790-36X with a .223 (F/TR)... only to get beat by a 792-33X. It would have been interesting to see what a really good F/Open shooter could have done at that match!

There are lots of great scores shot every month around the country... but only the ones at Registered (not Approved) matches count for national records. If you look at the NRA records via the link listed above... 200-12X is the current Open/Civilian F/TR record, and 200-16X for the Open/Civilian F/Open record. So still a little ways to go...

It is unfortunate that there are no recognized records for what seem to be relatively 'standard' courses of fire, like a 3x600 (or 500), or 4x600, etc. The 'recognized' Mid-Range course of fire seems fairly uncommon, at least around this neck of the woods. It'd be nice if they did reward/recognize consistent performance over an entire day, not just over one short relay.

Thats some very fine shooting Monte especially with a .223. I had shot my best 4x600 score, 794 41x at the match that Marlyn got that score in and I still didnt win. I didnt mind though, its not everyday you see scores that high for f-class. His 6xc is very accurate. I am surprised that the NRA doesnt keep track of a 4x600 record. They are a fairly common course of fire.

One ideal day at Memphis, Tn., I shot a 597/30X out of a possible 600 at 600 yards. Three 20 shot back-to-back 199's, and got beat on X count. I was beat by Jim Fowler (falconpilot) who is a fine fellow and a darned great F-Class shooter.

I was shooting a 6mmBR and Jim was shooting a 6mm Dasher.
