I heard that jumping into water is not a good idea. Don't know why.

Can't hold breath long enough and the ones on ya keep stinging underwater. I scream like a girl when being stung, so being underwater is bad for the health.

I will relate that once I was shooting barn pigeons. My son, age 6 or seven was next to me when i heard the low hum of a 'transformer". Looked down. My legs (i was wearing pants at that point) were covered to my knees with yellow jackets. i was on the nest. I grabbed my son around the waist like a football and took off across the lawn. After 40 yards I dropped him yelling "run left", as I ran right. he went to the dairy barn and got the farmer and wife to help me. By then I was next to the farm pond holding a shotgun in my BVD's. Not one single sting. Except that the farmer and his wife went to my church. I still had a red face a week later on Sunday

Last year we had LOTS of them around the property. I put a ton of traps up and really put the hurt on them. I hadn't seen any this year until yesterday. And now a few buzzing around. Time to get the traps baited again. Man I hate those little effers! Jimmy Dean maple sausage, the best bait I've found. And the extra that doesn't go in the trap is pretty good too!
