Amateur :p

Get back to me when you’re 225. There’s nothing I wouldn’t give (other than working out and cutting back on food) to be 195 again. :(

It’s all perspective. I’m sure there’s others who would kill to be 225 ;)
When I married my wife I gained 20 lbs when I quit drinking I gained 20 lbs when I started drinking again I lost 20 lbs I was 230 at my heaviest and that is when I was the strongest.

I was walking back from the dry dock to the office talking with Mel. Mel is a Naval reserve full bird Captain. Reserved, soft spoken. Wouldn't say chit if he had a mouthful. Divorce came up. Mel quips: "If they didn't have a freaking reproductive receptacle (he actually used the "C" word), there'd be a bounty on the MoFos." Took me by surprise shall we say.
Is there a half bird captain? LOL

I saw that there was a movie on today about Gypsy Rose Lee, the stripper.

It reminded me of her visit to LZ Cork in 1968, right before Christmas. I had heard of her, so I was looking forward to see her stripping act.

She showed up in a Huey, wearing an OD tee-shirt, fatigue pants and jungle boots, but was somewhat disappointing. She was 57 and past her prime, but she was American and we were happy that she came.

She had a talent for dirty jokes and we were hollering for more, when we started taking incoming fire. We all scattered into bunkers and a buddy and I stood guard over her while the chopper was starting up. She kissed us both and said "she loved young soldiers, but didn't have time to show us". Her escort put her on the chopper and she was gone.

My company went back to mountains to patrol the next day, but my buddy and I often wondered what she was gonna show us.

A full-bird colonel is one rank below a one-star general, or brigadier general, and one rank above a lieutenant colonel thats what they call them in the army in the navy they call them captains because they captain a ship
In the Navy, a Captain is an officer rank (O-6), same as a "full-bird" Colonel.
A Navy Officer or Warrant Officer in charge of a ship (or in case of submarines - a boat) is called a Captain regardless of his pay scale.
A "boat' in the U.S.Navy is a small water vessel. It is considered a large social blunder to call a U.S. Navy ship a "boat".
Now, when submarines were first introduced into the U.S. Navy they were small and they were, somewhat derisively, called boats. During WW I & WW II they gained some stature. Submarines today weigh between 8,000 to 18,000 tons, which puts them in WW II cruiser weight class.
They are still called "boats".
Or.... as we in the submarine navy like to say..... "There are two kinds of ships in the Navy: Submarines and Targets."

Hornets? Years ago, I heard about the “invasion of the killer bees”! The News folks made it out to be a level 5 concern. “People are dyin!!”Living in Delaware, I wasn’t too concerned. Now I’m in Texas, so I asked around. Most people said “Nope. Haven’t seen them.”o_O :rolleyes:
I find it strangely ironic that the Killer Hornets turned up first in the same state that Covid did. I wonder if we have a Chinese spy cell working in Washington, starting all this?
Check out the two murders near Pittsburg, PA over the weekend. One guy was working on a Covid 19 project , reportedly on the verge of a vaccine. That should help make you wonder some more. Jeff

Looks like they were a little short on training aids when you went through "A" school, Doc.
