Anybody who's been, or has raised a young athlete who has succeeded in playing up in the highest levels, knows that politics ranks way behind playing the game. Most of the athletes have dedicated their life to to this and could care less about politics, and pretty much everything else, when they hit the field. They've put in more long, grueling hours of actual work than some of us will put in in 3 lifetimes. Let 'em play.

I heard something of the US having a diplomatic boycott of the games. Our Olympians should've as well. Plenty of woke pro athletes we could've sent in their stead, and left there.
Prior to 1978 centerfire rifles were used at ranges of 100m, 150m, 200m, and 250m. the .222 Remington was the favorite chambering in the early years. The Russians then took the 7.62 x 39mm and necked it down giving birth to the .220 Russian. You know the rest of the story. Politicians and dictators forced the use of the .22 LR round solely @50 m. The Olympic committee is as corrupt as the W.H.O. and as such I wouldn't expect international competitions involving firearms to be around much longer.

Been a avid Biathlon fan for years now . Though not a old sport in the U.S. , it is comparatively new , in the sense of history , and the costs of developing and training for competition . To say nothing of the fact that the weather in our country isn't really conducive to growing the sport , as it is throughout most of Europe . The Norwegian's are generally speaking my favorites due to their dedication , and precision in the manner they attack the discipline . And their Ladies aren't to hard on the eyes either . But ; NOT ONE MINUTE! I'll happily go back to the World Cup telecasts religiously , after the Propaganda broadcasts finish in Peiping .

Not supporting American athletes because of where they are competing in an International Governed events is hard to understand. I doubt any country has MADE money hosting the events. I doubt whether the Chinese care if you watch either. The world doesn't cheer when a country pulls their athletes in protest, it just gives them a better chance for a metal and throws years of training, dedication and money down the drain.

One good thing about this year’s olympics is china is not going to get any of the millions of dollars from the spectators due to the wuhan red death nonsense they let get out. I do miss seeing the spectators lining the slopes and the luge tracks
Perhaps, but coming on here or conversing with others and claiming to be watching the games without any acknowledgement that China is behaving badly to those that are there and the fact that they are our worst enemy is promoting their regime. If we continue to ignore their corruption, Chinese will become the universal language along with our freedoms we seem to have taken for granted.

Yeah, can't believe how selfish and unpatriotic those Olympic athletes are. You're right, we should just "cancel" our participation, and have our government "dictate" to our athletes where they can or can't play, all in the name of freedom of course.
Seriously, did you ever stop to think that the most humiliating thing we can do to the Chinese government is to go over there and beat them on their own turf? The America I love doesn't throw fits - it shows up to fight. But, you see, this is why these athletes made it to where they are. They kept fighting while everyone else made excuses to quit and sit on the sidelines. So let them go fight.

I am a fan of good shooting and the biathlon is interesting. Can you imagine your heartbeat moving the barrel when you have been busting your hump? I am not too offended by the young Norweigan woman doing her best for her country. the cool part is that Anschutz has dominated international rimfire shooting for most of the last 70 years give or take. The Rem 37 was used by a young American kid post WWii to win either the gold medal at olympics or a World Championship.
Going to 50m and 22’s is probably what made the sport take off to what it is today. When I grew up in Sweden in the 60’s and 70’s biathlon was a very small sport, I never heard of any club activity then.
