I can think of at least a dozen without trying too terribly hard.

I meant the action not the hotties- i know plenty i would do to them for weeks at a time

There's no financial reward to compete in the Biathlon, as compared to snow boarding, or down hill skiing. Once the Games went pro it became games for the rich.

True; some do it for the sake of the game.

Watching this years Olympics I have to say NBC coverage is the worst ever. Biathlon has been dumbed down through PC through the years. Used to be the .222 and .220 Russian (1964) were used. Any body else notice that some scored "hits" clearly show the bullet making contact with the outer black ring- in some cases way out? Poor editing or what's up with that? I refuse to watch the skating as I have always detested the late Dick Button's commentary.....now I see virtually every male skater is a bona fide limp-wristed fruitcake- complete with womens eye lashes and lipstick------sick! Lastly, IMO the N. Koreans shouldn't even be there, They are making a mockery out of the games with their organized cheerleading groups en-masse.

One of my old shooting friends brought his Anschutz Fortner-action biathlon rifle to the first several 22RF PR matches we shot last season. First time I'd ever seen one up close & personal, and was impressed with the way he shot with it. Then he let me run the action a few times....good Lord, what a piece of engineering & art! Seeing one in a sporter-style stock with very attractively figured wood on ANA's website had me wondering what I could sell, or rather, how many things would I need to sell, to buy one like that....

And I'll put my two cents worth in when it comes to having a good deal of respect for the athletes good enough to compete in the Olympic Biathlon. I have a tough time shooting offhand when I'm not winded from cross country skiing.

Don't they use electronic targets in the Olympics?

In shooting they do, with 1/10 point scoring ie 10.5 vs 10.4

In biathlon the physical flip-on-hit targets seem hard to improve on.

Tough sport and incredible athletes/shooters. Amazing how they can get that heart rate and breathing down and punch those targets.
