Old Powder Bad

So I was just going through my powders seeing if I needed to purge anything. Found a small sealed Sinclair powder measure bottle that had maybe 2 ounces of some vintage 93’ N130 that dried up like scorched earth. I unscrewed the cap which emerged a funky acidic smell of course. So then I added maybe 2 ounces of water and screwed the cap back on, figuring I’m going to flush the mixture down the toilet. Here’s where it got interesting, it made some noise and then the bottle swelled up slightly. I purged the bottle and filled it water. This crap is going in the ditch.

Acidic smell and red fumes are BAD news. I had 7.5# of Tubal 3000 do this...bad powder can be used as fertilizer, just scatter widely and hose it.

I had some vv130 go bad also. Kinda scared me when I saw the bottle on the shelf and realized what was going on. Mine was 95 vintage I believe.
And I can guarantee someone will add to this thread saying it can't won't never happen. It did to me.
