Old Dogs and New Tricks: Wipe Out

I've been using Wipe Out bore foam, with it's Accelerator, for several years and been very satisfied with it.

However, I've recently discovered a new way to use it, and thought I'd pass it along to the 6BR forum family....

This little attachment which is easily affixed to the top of the aerosol can is an absolutely amazing little inexpensive device ($2.50.)

Depending on the rifle and setup, I usually put the tip into the bore guide, give it very brief tap and wait for the foam to show up at the bore. I'm using a LOT less Wipe Out foam, and it also reduces the mess at both ends.

This may be old hat to you folks out there, but every time I use it, it occurs to me that I ought to pass it along...just in case.

Have used Wipe Out for several years now. Good stuff! Thanks for the heads up on the attachment.

I've never tried that applicator, but for years I have used delrin bore guides that I drilled the back end out with a 3/8 bit maybe an inch in, then stick a plain 1/4 ID-3/8OD bit of tubing into the hole. Seals well, and when I hang a plastic powerade bottle over the muzzle there's no mess, it even collects the patches when I clean the barrel.

I took the tip from a cheap clicker pen and stuck it in my tube. Made it really easy to inject from the muzzle end.

I absolutely love foaming bore cleaner , it makes cleaning automatic pistol barrels a breeze... I of course use it on my rifle with good results... Gunslick foaming bore cleaner is what I get and it does take copper out very well , there's no doubt when blue is running out or on the patches , plus on short pistol barrels can be looked down with a flashlight... My wife's LCR barrel was a little rough and two applications of the bore cleaner had it back to nothing but shiny metal... Foam it , clean it out , a patch or three of Butch's and oil the bore , done...
