OK to use Federal GM205M AR primers in a bolt action

I have a .223 Savage bolt action F/TR? Can I load using GM205MAR instead of GM205M ? The standard 205M' s werent available.

Anyone have any experience with these?

I've never used them, but I'm sure they'll be fine. I think I remember something about them having harder cups to prevent slam fires in an AR. Load up some test loads and ensure your savage will set them off.
As always, I'd advise completely starting over on your load work up. Reduce 10% from max and work up, checking for pressure signs.

They work fine in both my .17 & .221 "Furballs". Didn't have to change powder charge at all. YMMV
