Oiling Barrel When Stored

I have several rifles I use in local benchrest matches held once a month from April through September. After each match I use Bore Tech Rimfire Blend to clean them, my question is should I run an oiled patch through them after cleaning during the shooting season? Note: after our last match when I store them for the winter, I do oil the barrel.

Thanks

My cleaning regimen ends with a wet patch of CLP thru the bore if I'm going to be storing for a couple of weeks or more. Very humid here in the summertime and I just feel safer that way.

I run a wet patch of CorrosionX through after cleaning and then a dry patch. I feel that it leaves just enough of a film to protect the bore.
Years back when I had a pilots license, I spoke to the inventor of CorrosionX and was thoroughly impressed with his knowledge and how he came about his products. At the time, I had hotrods with big cams and was worried about the reduction of ZDDP in motor oil. He already had an additive that addressed that.
Since using CorrosionX I haven't had any issues with rust, or with frozen bolts while hunting. I'm definitely a fanboy.

I used to get mild rust on firearms in long term storage until I started wiping them down with Rust Prevent. I also run a patch of it in the bore. I always clean the bore before shooting it. Have had zero rust issues since starting with this method about 15-20 years ago. I do run a golden rod in the gun safe as well and don't put firearms in cases or sleeves.

Yeah we spend a lot on our gear and toys, might as well go the extra mile to keep them nice.

LT storage I always clean well then oil inside and out. If I'm concerned about any migration into the action simply store those barrel down, trigger up. Having a couple Henry rifles I fell on their oil wipes, can't recommend them enough as they make quick work of wiping down the outside and aren't costly.

I gunsock everything back of the front row, don't like easily preventable dings and scratches. However I only use socks that are thick, open weave, and zero % cotton or anything else that might draw or hold moisture. Arcturus and Guguluza socks are excellent.

The safe has a rod in it and I also run ThermoPro TP50 in the safe, reloading room, wherever I want to keep an eye on temp/humidity over time. They are cheap and batteries last forever in them so why not.

Meguiar's X2020 Supreme Shine Microfiber Towels (been using them for camera lenses for decades as they are far softer than most others and wash up great too). I keep a new/clean one in a ziplock for any glass and the balance just in my camera bag. Same method works great for blued weapons and shooting related glass. These only get used for sensitive stuff, everything else gets the garden variety ones and in other colors so I can't mix them up.

Its all about your environment. Here in the desert it is so dry that not even the blued guns rust. Back when I lived by the beach stuff rusted easily. If it is humid where you are, definitely oil the gun inside after you shoot and outside every time you handle it.

I have had good luck with 100% Balistol, some don’t like the smell.
Long term, LPS #3 if I recall correctly, almost like cosmoline.
